Fortune cookies

Almost forgot, hubby and I got a serious giggle out of our fortune cookies last night: "Right now you need to be patient" "Soon life will become more interesting" I think someone is trying to tell us something hehehehehe

Ticking down the week

Haven't gotten hardly anything done, except going to work and then home and crashing. I do need to get back into my FLYing routines and start getting back on top of things. Found a 2nd little tomato on my Black Krim. Both tomato plants seem to like being in the kitchen windows, so I am hopeful they will start to ripen enough I will get some seeds out of them for next spring. I need to check my Sweet 100s and see if there are anymore ripe ones and I will see about getting seeds from them also. I'm giving serious thought of seeing if I can get one to go over the winter in the house. I will see about some greens and herbs, if I can figure out how to keep the kitties from decimating them like they usually do. I do need to sit down and plan my garden for next year, not to mention get my spaces cleaned up before the weather gets too icky. I have found a sorta local source for worms for my compost bin, there is a place in Camas WA that sells them and since we are looking at heading ou

AHHHhhhh, Friday

At last!!!! It has been a long week. Forgot my tea this morning, luckily I had one cup before coming to work. I completely forgot to pour more to bring. Doing lunch with hubby over at Smoky Mountain, looking forward to checking out the buffet. Hubby went Wednesday and said the onion soup was quite yummy. Purple Ducky Designs is ticking along steadily. This month's biggest selling design is: I've several other designs in the works and will be adding those over the next few weeks. Brought in those two tomato plants, so hopefully the one tomato on each will ripen enough so I can get the seeds for next spring: It is nice to walk up to them and breath deep, they have such a lovely tomatoie aroma to them. I'm giving serious thought of a small planter with lettuce greens in it for inside. I still plan on the green house, but some really at hand fresh greens would be wonderful. We are hoping to get some fishing in this weekend, looks like we'll have some decent weather. I woul

Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill

Joined some friends last night for the opening night of the Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill out at the Palouse Mall: The interior is nice, a little bit sports themed, mostly outdoor sports: They have both booths and tables and it nicely lit. We started off with appetizers: Hubby and I ordered the spinach & artichoke dip with pita bread: Our friends got the crispy chicken Thai rolls: Both were very yummy and the peanut sauce for the Thai rolls was nicely spicy. For entrees I got a calzone with pepperoni and black olives: It had an insane amount of pepperoni. I think someone got a bit carried away in the kitchen: It was delish: Hubby and M ordered the Sesame Chicken salad: Her hubby ordered the South Pacific Chicken & Coconut Shrimp: Their grandson got the kids cheese pizza with a salad: All in all a good meal. It was opening night (they opened at 4pm) and quite busy. They will need a few more days to run the kitchen in, my calzone was a bit browner then it should have been and th

AAACCKKKK!!!! Fall has arrived!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to have to start closing the kitty window at night and making sure they are all in. Between it being too cold and kitties leaving mouse parts scattered about, it is time. Speaking of kitties, Pheobe's full name is now Ms Pheobe Underfoots Mouseflinger. I swear she spent half the weekend bringing in mice and flinging them where ever she could. Friday night we heard a noise while we were crashed in the bedroom watching movies and looked up in time to see a furry corpse flying up past the end of the bed. I think she managed to get it about 5 feet into the air. When she flung it and it landed on my foot, I said enough and out the window it went. Unfortunately she found it again and brought it back. When she flung it up on the bed and tried playing with it there, hubby distracted her and I managed to get it seriously flung out the back window. Saturday she decided it was too wet and rainy out, so she brought a live one in to play. I

YAY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

I think I am going to spend most of the weekend sleeping. Maybe go fishing if the weather stays decent.

Almost Friday

This week has been ticking along not too badly. Hubby almost has my Linux machine back up and running, so I can use it to work on my CafePress shop . I've been slowly adding new designs, my latest is the photo of the rooster: I have it on a number of items , including mugs, buttons and cards. I am still working on adding it to other items in my shop, clocks and keepsakes. Had fun at the fair looking at the critters. Next year we'll see about going in the evening when the lights are prettiest and I can get some neat pictures. I'll also see about entering some photography and maybe some beer. We didn't stay long as it got too warm and we both started melting. Kitty cats have decided they really need to bring their mice inside. This wouldn't be a problem if they were always dead, but they seem to think we really want live mice in the house. ACK!!!! Bad enough I find corpses in closets and under furniture, but this last weekend took the cake. I picked up the bag I usual

YAY!!!! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!

And the weather is looking good, pity we won't have time to get any fishing in. Forgot to mention (been rather forgetful this week) that I had my last visit with my surgeon on Tuesday. My knee is coming along nicely, in fact I am ahead of the curve in that regard. I'm not using my cane much, except for when I have a ways to walk, like while shopping. I also have full range of motion in my knee. The doc is happy, I am happy and that means everyone else is happy LOL. I do have to be careful about overdoing it tho. I still can't take a long flight of stairs with out some aid, like a cane or handrail, but I can do short flights of 6 or less steps with only a little twinge now and then. I did kinda goof yesterday after work when I decided I really needed to get the lawnmower out and cut the weeds that is my lawn. The lawnmower hadn't been used this year and was a bit cranky at starting. I was really reefing on the cord when i twisted in just the right way I twisted my right

Okay, decided what to call the mead

YAWN!!!

Definitely need more sleep, even tho I am getting up an hour later in the morning now that I am back on fall schedule. Ah well. I'm entering a bottle of my mead in the Latah County Fair, I'll drop it off tonight after work. I've never entered anything into a fair, so this should be fun. I decanted and strained the mead this morning to make it look clearer and then back into the bottle. I did a taste test with another bottle last night and it is definitely ready. Now I just need to come up with a name. "The Great Mead Explosion of '06" is a bit long for the entry form, so may come up with something plain and boring or just shorten it to "Great Mead Explosion" mead. I've got a few more hours to decide. Forgot to mention that on Saturday we hit Columbia Paints and picked up 10 gallons of exterior paint. They were having a mis-tint sale and were selling it at $2 a gallon. So the outside of the trailer is going to be painted what I call "brick&qu

Okay, time to start posting regularly again

So the first couple weeks of school are over and things are starting to settle down. Nicky is still on walkabout. J reminded me his brother Yellow Cat went walkabout all last summer before finally coming home, so we are still expecting the little snot to come sailing the the kitty window one of these days when it really starts getting cold. I just wish he'd send us an ETA so I can stop worrying. The rest of the kitties are staying pretty close to home now that it is getting pretty chilly at night. I want to shut the kitty window at dark, but won't just yet. Forgot to mention, a couple weeks ago we picked up a couple more fish for the aquarium. We didn't plan of more fish, we'd gone into Barnacle Bill's to pick up fish food and a new hood for the tank. We walked out with the aforementioned items, along with a new piece of furniture for the tank (a crashed space ship with two aliens looking at a map) and a pair of GloFish . They are the genetically modified Zebra Dani
