The baking frenzy is done and my entries have been delivered to the fair

A kitchen countertop is laden with freshly baked bread and cookies, all wrapped in plastic. Each baked item is accompanied by a handwritten recipe card. The scene suggests a cozy baking session and an organized approach to sharing culinary creations.

Now I can collapse. I dropped them off on Tuesday, and we'll pop over to the fair for its first day later this afternoon. Not too many people should be there. Friday nights and Saturdays are the most popular times to go. I don't do crowds well anymore, so tonight should be fine.

I entered my snickerdoodles, sourdough sandwich bread, and pumpkin bread, all gluten-free, of course, in the gluten-free category. I also entered the Huckleberry Battle; this year, it's Huckleberry Blond Brownies. My entry was also gluten-free, so we'll see how the judges liked it. I'm really hoping for blue ribbons for everything, but I won't be surprised if I only get white ribbons for turning something in.

Yeah, my confidence levels plummet the minute I turn something in for judging.

But, I have several recipes tweaked to my liking (and hubby's liking) and I can now focus on other things, like starting fall prep i my garden and start planning my garden next year now that my knees are fixed and I can get out and about with a whole lot less pain.
