Spring has apparently sprung!

A variety of young plants are emerging from the rich, organic soil amidst a bed of mulch and decaying leaves. Purple leaves from some of the sprouts add a pop of color to the otherwise earthy tones of the scene.

Daily temperatures are rising and we are looking at 60s over the next few days. Overnight temps are still in the 30s and low 40s. Hopefully, we can start opening up the house a bit during the day to get some fresh air happening.

With the weather getting nicer I plan on seeding my containers with broccoli, spinach, and salad greens. I will make some covers for them to mimic a cold frame. I won't need them for anything else until the tomatoes are ready to go out, so greens will be perfect.

Several plastic bins filled with soil and plants sit on a grassy area beside a concrete path leading to a white garage door. To the right, a series of black plastic bags are lined up against a wooden structure, suggesting a garden in progress.

We have several squirrels we are feeding. One has gotten fairly used to us, and I was able to snap a pic of it. I didn't need to use the zoom.

A curious squirrel is perched on a wooden railing, its tail fluffed out behind it as it appears to be observing its surroundings. Sunlight filters through, casting shadows and highlighting its fur while the backdrop features a metal structure and a partially visible metal birdbath.
One of our resident Wellingtons. So named because our one cat is named Napoleon and they like to tease him.
