BURP!!!!

I so love turkey day leftovers hehehehehe

Yesterday went well even tho I didn't get the green bean casserole done the night before, everything else was ready.

Decided to do the onions for the casserole before I put the turkey in, set the oven for the temp AB recommended, almost carbonized the onions. Got them out before they got too black. So I did up the stuffing, stuffed the bird, sprinkled it with lemon herb Old Bay, and shot it up with Arbor Mist exotic white zin and into the oven it went:

Turkey
La Turkey

Had a little timing issue with the bird, the internal temp went down at one point, but after a few minutes went back up. Had to keep the green bean casserole warm on the back burner where the oven vents until the bird came out, then once the bird was out, the beans went in. I baked the rolls in the toaster oven, used both microwaves to nuke the mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole:

Mashed potatoes
Mashed potatos

Sweet potato casserole
Sweet potato casserole

Alton Brown's green bean casserole (a little blackened)

Canned cranberry jelly

Butter rolls

After we stuffed ourselves we played Talisman and then it was on to dessert:

Apple butter pumpkin pie
Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie

Brandy sweet potato pie
Brandy Sweet Potato Pie

BLORP!!!!!!!!

After our friend left we watched some TV and then I slept in this morning. Didn't get up until after 10:30 am. I'd gotten most of the dishes done last night, so all I am faced with is the bottom half of the roaster and some odds and ends and then whatever dishes we use today.

I am seriously amazed Phoebe behaved herself and didn't get into any of the food when she was left unattended in the kitchen. Good little Phoebe!

Spending most of the day crashed on the couch editing photos, posting food porn various places and not doing a whole heck of a lot. Hubby is out running errands. I didn't feel like going out. Will try and pick up more of the living room in a bit.

We'll do more leftovers for dinner. At some point I need to start packaging up leftovers for the freezer. I probably won't stock the carcass this weekend, I still have enough stock from last year to make soup this week.

That truly is food porn, you evil woman, you.
Btw, when you comment, you should leave your blog URL in the field because I have a plugin that links to your last post, and I can just click on it from there.
All the more linky love...
