Alternative Spring Break:

"This spring break, over 60 University of Idaho students will spend a week on the warm, Southern beach. But they will not be basking in the sun or sipping drinks with paper umbrellas. Instead, these dedicated students will assist with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort by volunteering with Community Collaborations International, a not-for-profit organization that aims to assist communities affected by disasters.

From March 11-18, the ASUI Volunteer Programs will take 63 students to Waveland, Mississippi, on an Alternative Service Break. Throughout the week, student volunteers will participate in diverse reconstruction and volunteer support activities, such as debris removal, construction, painting, floor and window installation, and building repairs."
