Summer is going too fast!

Why can't summer go slowly, just like it did when we were kids. Here it is August, school starts on the 22nd and students aretrickling back into town. I haven't had much of a chance to REALLY enjoy summer. I do have a week off coming, the week right before school starts. I wish we could afford to go somewhere.

Cooler again today, rained a bit last night, enough to splotch the car. We'll probably wash the paint off this week. Hubby talked to our friend about tiger stripes so when she has time she'll do that. I think we might want to pop out there early for Lammas and maybe do it then.

Cooked a pork roast last night for dinner. I didn't put the probe thermometer in and managed to over cook it. It still tasted good, but not as good as it should have. I pulled one of the packages of "dump" chicken out to start defrosting last night. Also pulled out a container of mashed potatos and will cut some more lettuce. Between the freezer friendly list and FlyLady things are coming along nicely.

Saw great story on Good Morning America this morning. A guy in Geoegia bought some property and planned on tearing down the house and building 2 houses on the property and went to have it re-zoned (it was zoned as agricultural). Seems the lower levels of the county governement was in favor, but he was opposed by the neighbors and a developer and his reqeust was denied. So in good old American "up yours" fashion he is getting them back. They insist that his property stay zoned agrucultural, so he's giving them agricultural, several goats, a rooster and 3 pigs named Spottie, Dottie and Sausage Patty. He's also painted his hour in the colors of his alma mater, University of Florida. Needless to say, the neighbors are up in arms. The thing is, he's surrounded on one side by a development where the houses are build on less acreage then he has and the development in planning on the other side also has houses on less acreage, so their argument that houses can't be built on less the 1 acre lots is bogus. He's planning on expanding, planting wax beans and possibly bringing in more animals. GO DUDE!!!!!!!
