Le flippin' BRRRR!!!!!!!

Last day of April and I had to have my electric blanket on last night! WHERE'S MY SPRING DANG IT!!!!!!!! Sigh, spring on the Palouse, you either freeze or roast. Been off and on snowing, raining or sunny today. So, as mentioned in previous posts, I am now fully integrated into the 21st Century with my very own smart phone: Slowly getting the hang of it, I do have custom ringtones loaded (Phineas & Ferb LOL!), but still have to assign them to various people and functions. I am finding it quite handy for when I don't have either of my cameras handy: It is cool I can upload the pics with a filter to make it look neat, tho it isn't any sub for GIMP and the pics from my regular cameras. Picked up that sweet little Lucky bamboo plant at Art under the Elms in Lewiston on Saturday when we popped in. Too many wonderful things to buy, too little money *sniff!* I have also succeeded in sending several text messages. I am however still accidently dialing people when I

Blech!

Hubby went to upgrade my Linux and the motherboard on my machine died. Luckily I have everything backed up, but I can't access the pics I took on Saturday to work on them. Luckily I should have a new motherboard by Wednesday and be back up and running on Thursday. Sunday was a wee bit busy as we took advantage of the weather still being a bit nice in the morning and worked a bit outside (tho getting dragged out of bed at 8:30 am to do so was a bit much). But the aquarium has a new home, the deck is better organized and I have pics to process of things that will get listed on the local freecycle when I get the chance. Didn't do much else, I was still in too much pain from all the running around I did at the charity ride stop, then shopping and a couple hours at Art under the elms up at Lewis & Clark State College. Weather stayed nice, tho cloudy and windy, but the wind blew the humidity away, so that was good.

How I spent Sat morning

More pics and details later. Still processing pics. Managed to also give Kyle a sun catcher I made with a motorcycle bead to auction off to raise a little money for Victory Junction . I was able to tell him what it was for and get it in his hands before I stopped breathing and got away before turning total fan girl. I was much calmer when I caught up with him later to get the pic with him and Ms Ella .

BIRDIES!!!!!!

Stopped by a local park on the way home last night to give my new camera a good test. The place was filled with redwing blackbirds so I had lots of fun taking photos (tho now I know why a lot of pros have a couple cameras. Changing lenses can be a challenge, esp when the temp drops!). The males were singing and showing off trying to catch the eyes of the ladies: Some of the ladies didn't appear to be too impressed: Final test was a pic of the moon: WOW!!!! Can't wait to finish learning how to use the camera (still using auto) and getting out some night with the tripod and seeing what I can get for night shots.

Not a whole heck of a lot done this weekend

Then again, when one is feeling crappy, running a lovely temp of above 100F and one's cheek is swollen it is not too surprising. Not sure what happened. My broken tooth (broke several weeks back, no big deal) was giving me a little grief late Thursday, then my sinuses kicked in on Friday and to top it all off Scrapper caught me under my left eye (thank goodness for glasses) with his claws and I woke up the next morning feeling REALLY crappy with a swollen left cheek. So it was lots of ibuprofen, hot compresses, cloves and sleep most of the weekend. Did pop out for a bit on Saturday when I was feeling a bit better and the swelling was going down. Dropped some recycling off, dropped a few things off at the Hope Center and picked up some small lamps and a power bar to use for photography, then home and a nap. FINALLY got a smart phone. 3rd or 4th time the charm. We switched to Sprint on Friday, they had a great deal for credit union members that pretty much paid for both our pho

SUPER SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Friday was Relay for Life and the hubby and I were there. He to work behind the scenes and me to sell things to hopefully raise some money. I lowered my usual prices in hopes that I could sell more things. Got lots of interest, gave away a few business cards and sold a few cat5 bangle bracelets for $2 a pop, but not much else: The above pic was taken moments before the hubby surprised the heck out of me, the little sneak! I looked up to see him snapping a couple pics of me and he came over and handed me the camera. I thought, cool, someone loaned him one so we could get some pics of me at the table. I looked at it and then him and said "Nice! This is the camera I've been wanting." To which he replied, "No, that is the camera you own". . . . . . . . . . I think only dogs could hear my initial "SSSSSQQQQQQUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!" it was that high pitched. Pity hubby didn't get a pic of my reaction, it would have been priceless. S

WOO HOOO!!!! New dress!

Finally was able to order a couple dresses from HolyClothing , a fantastic online clothing store with cool clothes. I ordered two dresses, the first is the Sunita in Majolica Blue: No pics of the 2nd dress as yet, but it is the Venus in Purple Fushia. I'd originally wanted the Sunita in the purple and the Venus in the blue, but the Sunita was sold out in that color, so I switched. They are still both gorgeous. I also can't believe how fast I got them. Ordered on Sat, they shipped from New Delhi India on Monday and I had them on my doorstep here in North Idaho yesterday. Will definitely be ordering again, there are quite a few dresses and a couple tops on my wishlist I need to get.

Again, weekends are too short

Did manage to get a bit done tho. My neighbor agreed to model some of my jewelry so I could get nicer pics of them on my Etsy shop : Miss Pretty is a PERFECT model and I hope to get more photos in the future. She is so fun to work with. She also loaned me her camera, so now I have some experience with a DSLR and I can't wait to get one of my own. Just need to start selling enough jewelry to afford one. Didn't do a whole heck of a lot this weekend, puttered about the house inside for the most part. Weather on Sat was blustery and not too bad for the photo shoot, but Sunday was a definitely stay in and straighten things up. Did pop out long enough to hit Tristate for a couple items and Winco (who now has self-checkout stations that I love. Tend to be too fast for them, but I am getting the hang of them). Did pop out Sat morning to get my hair cut. Now the only two people allowed to cut my hair will be my sis-in-law and Gordon at Essence Salon on the Troy Rd here in Moscow.

Weekend was WAYYYYYYYYY too short

And we actually had spring. Still have some tho the weather is going to get not so nice by the weekend. But was able to get out and do things outside and open up the house even more. Got the magic mesh screen door up so we can have the front door open (to the delight of the kitties) without being attacked by the early mosquitoes. Baked a ham on Sunday, Winco had shanks on for 89 cents a pound, so scored two. One for Sunday and the other in the deep freeze. Also tried out a new recipe, it is for Oatmeal Cranberry Nut Breakfast Cake (Gluten Free) , except I didn't have any dried cranberrys and don't like nuts in things like this So I simply left those out and went with what I had on hand. I didn't have enough brown sugar, so I subbed some honey for what I was short and decided to try out the coconut oil I bought. OH MY!!!!!! The flavor is to die for and I can't wait to see what else I can do with this recipe (definitely going to get dried cranberrys tho as I love
