Blech to the nth degree!

Today would have been a good day to stay home under the covers. Just not into being coherent today.

Been up and down the emotional roller coaster all weekend. Friday is pretty much a blur, tho we had a friend over for dinner Friday night. We'd invited her a couple weeks ago and I decided that postponing would not be a good idea as I would have spent all the evening moping.

I love the vet's where KiKi was, they were very sweet and I thought the vet was going to burst into tears when she administered the shot. She spent time with us before and after.

We'll be giving KiKi a viking send off on the Samhain bonfire, for a couple of reasons. One is she loved bing the center of attention and the other is the vet had concerns about burial and the possibility of some critter disturbing her if we didn't bury her deep enough. If it is feline leukemia or such, it would be very dangerous for said critter. So KiKi will get a good send off and we don't have to worry.

I spent most of Thursday evening editing the last video I did of KiKi, when she was feeling better during the arthritis study on the magic food. I put together the vid with some of the pics I took of her over the years and finished it on Saturday:

The vet was really surprised when we told her how KiKi had gotten better on the food, since what ever she had started before the study, but not so any one was able to tell except for her sleeping a lot, which everyone figured was from the arthritis they found during the baseline exam. The vet thinks that the anti-oxidants boosted her system so she was doing well, but when we switched her back to the regular food, her underlying condition came roaring back 3 fold. Poor KiKi, if we'd only known and could have kept her on the food.

Hubby has talked to the vet who ran the study, he let the vet know if they wanted to do a necropsy, we would have no objections. If they can get anything from all this that will help other kitties like KiKi live longer it would be a very good thing.

So I managed to putter thru the weekend. Almost didn't go on the field trip to the basket weaver's convention down at the Clearwater Casino on the Nez Perce reservation. Figured I would end up moping, so off I went. Good thing two, it was the prof, me and one other student. We did run into one other student down there, she had come in from Spokane and drove on her own. One other student was there, but he was participating in some of the activities there as he is a tribal member. Oh well, the folk who didn't show up missed out on looking at some really cool weaving.

Sunday was a low key day, tho I did get a couple things done. Finally moved the bedroom AC unit out of the window and into the shed. The office AC will stay where it is for a while longer. Managed a couple loads of laundry this weekend. Did get some grocery shopping done, still have some pork loins to brine. Bought a new mop and clock over at Shopko.

Didn't feel like cooking last night, so we used the gift certificate for Sangria Grille my mom had given us. Totally delish and we went home with seriously happy tummys and taste buds.

Nicky has really been pounding on Scrapper, which of course makes Scrapper start pounding on Nicky if he is pushed to far. I've have to go out and carry Scrapper into the house if he even thinks Nicky is in there. For a while they had hit on mutual ignore. Not sure if it is the weather and our having to keep the back window shut now and they can't go in and out when ever they want.

Oh well, life goes on.
