Very short week

Work today and tomorrow, off Wednesday, back to work on Thursday and then off again on Friday. Should be a fun week.

Got the fish tank all set up. Set it up on Friday and got the water in and the pumps going and all. Added in the furniture and plastic plants yesterday. We took in a sample of water to Pets are People too and they tested the water for us. While there we grabbed a pH testing kit and some stuff to help lower the pH with a buffer. Since the water wasn't too bad, we picked up 3 neon tetras (who were named as we were leaving the store. Larry, Moe and Curly hehehehehehe). Can't see them in this pic, we'd snapped it to get Scrapper on top, but he zipped off just as hubby was pushing the button:

Fish tank

I do have some video of them, have to download it to the computer and see if it turned out. If they survive the week, we'll start adding more fish. Hubby is talking platys (? pladies, not sure how it is spelled). It will be nice, the tank is so big the tetras can be hard to see, esp against the gravel (didn't think of them blending in with it hehehehehe). Every once in a while we count tetras and worry if one is missing. For a while yesterday Curly (the littlest one) was nowhere to be seen. This morning Larry was MIA. Hubby called a little while ago and said he'd shown up again. Probably was just hiding.

Finally got some stuff OFF the porch and back into the shed. Had to commit chemical warfare to do so, there were several active yellow jacket nests on the inside of the shed door. While I was at it, nailed a few that were on the porch eves. I think we'll have to get a new can of spray soon.

Basically puttered about this weekend, too hot to do any real cooking, tho I did do some hamburger helper stuff for dinner last night. Just salad wasn't going to be enough.

Did get the rest of my one garden spot weeded (mostly). Discovered I did have more lettuce come up then I thought. Still have to re-seed it tho, there were just two plants.

Poor Rum Tum is looking like he's got a major case of mange. I finally tackled him last night and got a lot more mats off of him, employing a beard trimmer. I still have his back, left side and the rest of the right side to do. He tolerates it for about 10 minutes before he breaks out claws and teeth if I am lucky. But a couple more sessions I should have the worst ones off. I hope. We do have to get a new electric trimmer, the one we had is seriously dying, I have to keep the turbo button on to get it to even think of cutting hair. So in the meantime, hubby's poor beard trimmer is going to get a work out.
