SIGH!

What a thing to wake up to on a Monday morning. Been reading the news from Virginia Tech about the shootings on campus. Won't know the whole story until the dust settles a bit, reports are 32 dead, among them the shooter and a number of people wounded. My heart goes out to the families of the wounded and dead.

The truly sad thing is, this could have been prevented if VT was not a victim disarmament zone. School policy disarms everyone on campus, even if they have a CCW, which means they are legally allowed to carry concealed in Virginia. Apparently a bill to do away with this policy never even made it out of committee, with one VT official stating that it was good this happened so everyone would feel safe on campus.

How safe are people now? Because every one knows the bad guys follow the rules and would NEVER come on campus armed when guns aren't allowed.

Okay, sarcasm off.

Now the gun control nuts are screaming more needs to be done. Let's see, guns were not allowed on campus, so none of the LAW-ABIDING students, staff or faculty were armed, thus allowing someone who came on to campus with a gun, in violation of said policy and start shooting and killing people. None of whom had the means to protect themselves.

Yup, gun control sure worked.....NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goddess, this is so, so, so.... STUPID!!!!!!!! These people shouldn't have died becasue of the stupidity of The Powers That Be, I sincerely hope that the families of the victims sue because TPTB placed their loved ones in harms way. I also hope the students, staff and faculty who are still there also sue TPTB for endangering their lives and not allowing them the tools needed to keep their lives and the lives of the people in their care safe.

Was just reading The LawDog and he has a post on the happenings that everyone should read: Virginia Tech Shooting. He has a wonderful way of saying things.

And "morning" isn't necessarily a time of day. It's an attitude.
