Our trip pt 1

Finally got around to processing the photos thru photoshop.

So we started off on Friday the 14th after a few stops and starts. We made fairly decent time considering the 15-20 minute wait just this side of Washtucna for road construction.

We stopped at the big rest area before Ellensburg for a quick stop and I tried to get a pick of Mt Rainer. Not too bad for a little digicam and some photoshopping:

We rolled into Ellensburg to look for a hot spot (which are very rare considering how evryone is saying it's the big thing) and found this great building I had to get pics of:

There is this great mural on the side:

After our stop in Ellensburg where we also hit the visitor's center for info on campgrounds, we headed off and got a spot at a campgound just before Snoqualamie for the night:

I whipped up a dinner of chicken and rice on the butane stove with my cast iron skillet. The next morning we did coffee inthe new Melita we picked up at TriState onthe way out of town and we were going to hit the summit for breakfast. Well, the idiot who tired to cut off the semi caused us to miss our exit so we drove into North bend and found a great little restaurant:

I had a half order of biscuits and gravy, hubby had a stack of flapjacks and lots of coffee. It was a damn fine cup of coffee (to quote a certain tv FBI agent hehehehe) and we were so full we will try the cherry pie the next trip over.

From North Bend we headed for Olympia where we met up with friends for the evening and then Sunday we headed for Vancover BC.

You didn't have the cherry pie?

I kick myself everytime we go to Seattle for not stopping in at this cafe. Some day I'm going to do it!

We seriously cinsidered getting apiece, but we both were so stuff we'd have exploded if we'd eaten another bite LOL. I am wishing we'd gotten a couple pieces to go, but we'll just have to stop the next time we head that away and try it.
