Monday catchup time

Ended up hitting Winco Friday night for one of their chicken dinners, 12 pieces, 2 sides and rolls. Gave us great leftovers for Sat night.

Saturday was mostly sunny, but pretty darned windy so it made the drive to Lewiston fun. Halfway down we decided that it had been a long time since we had an Effie Burger, so that was our first stop. Effie's Tavern is a little hole in the wall place that makes the worlds most delicious hamburger. A full 10 inches across of mouthwatering juicy beef on a special made buttery, lightly toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles, relish and onions (had them put on the side so I didn't have to pick them off). We opted for the cheese burger with both swiss and american cheese, along with a medium seasoned curly fries (medium at Effie's is an extra large any place else). Glass of ice tea for me, cup of coffee for the hubby and we dug in.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

One nice thing about Effie's is if you are by yourself you can order the burgers in half sizes. Hubby is driving a friend down on Thursday and is considering stopping in to try the New Effie Burger, with ham, mushrooms and grilled onions.

So after the heavenly feast he called the client he was supposed to see, only to find out the problem was solved (hubby had told him to try something earlier, it worked), but the client forgot to call and let him know it worked. It's ben working for several days. Sigh! People, if you have someone working on something for you, call thm right away to let them know it's working if they give you hints on fixing it yourself.

So it was off to the dangerous store, managed to get in and out spending less then $10. Hubby picked up a couple packages zap staps and I got a neat wind chime with sun, stars and moon.

Then it was off to Costco, hubby wanted to return the cell he'd gotten thru Verizon, he wasn't too happy with it, the gal at the kiosk had blown him off when he had questions on something right after he'd signed up and after a couple of days thinking about it, found a better deal thru T-Mobile. He returned it and she was so snotty it wasn't funny. She was all sweetness and helpfullness up until she get your money, then turns into a snot. Hubby mentioned this to the person at the customer service desk where we had to go after getting the paperwork on the return to get his money back and the lady didn't look at all surprised. Get the feeling they've had complaints about this gal before.

So we did some shopping, picked up kitty food, naproxine, orange juice, bagels and trail mix. Didn't need to buy much this trip, then it was top off the gas tank time and then home.

Spend Saturday evening watching races. Finally got to see the previous weekends race and when that was over, watched Saturdays race. Both races were very exciting. Bummer tho that Jeff G ended up not finishing Saturday night's race, I hope they can figure out what happened, but it was really exciting seeing Dale Jr finally winning after the disappointing runs he's been having.

Sunday was a sleep in day, didn't get up until 10:30 am :D Noticed KiKi's forhead was swelling again, decided I needed coffee and waking up more before tackling her to see what was up. Half hour later she wanders thru the living room with a very goopy head, it was an abcess that had ruptured. Lovely. Grabbed tissue, alcohol wipes, a towel, latex gloves, tea tree oil and the cat. She wasn't happy, but hubby held her while I performed medical aid. Apparently there was a puncture we hadn't noticed (the other one had healed up nicely), so I spent part of yesterday chasing her down to make sure it drained. We called a friend who contacted an acquantaince (someone we'd rather not deal with directly) who is a vet for advice. She got hold of the husband (also a vet) and got advice from him. So I ended up trimming the hair around the wound, cleaning it with hydrogen peroxcide and slathering it with triple antibiotic ointment. It definately looked better this morning, tho KiKi is really unhappy with me, but we'll have to treat it at least a couple times a day and make sure it drains properly. We could see about getting her oral antibiotics, but our vet friend says the key is to make sure it is kept drained and clean.

Got a craving for spaghetti last night, so we popped out and hit Safeway. Got a bottle of their Organics spaghetti sacue, the roasted garlic. YUMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good stuff Maynard :D

Picked up some vids over at Movie Gallery, Mrs Henderson Presents, Narnia, King Kong and the first volume of Penn & Teller's Bulls*&T! Watched most of the P&T last night. We originally had picked out The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but they were all out. So we got the Penn & Taller instead.

Sunday was mostly a low energy day, it was rainign outside, so didnt' get any outside work done. Did manage to get some of the living room cleaned up and more dishes done. I need to keep working on it, my mom and aunt are visiting the end of the month, so I need the place mostly clean.
