Currently 47F according to WeatherFox and no rain. It came down yesterday like a son of a gun, the river near our place was pretty high. The pond across the lane is starting to overflow its banks.
Getting really ancy to get out in the garden. Fingers crossed it will be nice at least part of the weekend, tho the weather guy was saying it wasn't :( I've got lots of indoor stuff to do, but I'd like to at least get the beds prepped, esp the front flower bed I never cleaned up last fall.
I'm either going to have to start making at least 3 loaves of bread each weekend, or get things set to do a loaf or two mid-week. I might see about doing a loaf of white tonight (unless I get more honey after work, I'm almost out of the last jar my dad had put up years ago, then I can do another loaf of whole wheat). If I go with the 3 or more loaves each weekend, I'll probably do a couple wheat and a couple sourdough and go for sandwich shaped loaves for the sourdough. I'm definately going to need more loaf pans LOL
Did burgers and fries last night, nice and quick. Definately going to see about making my own hamburger buns. We used slices of my bread, that was yummy. I think maybe doing the bread dough as usual and then just divide and shape into hamburger sized loafs and bake. Should do the trick nicely.
Currently re-reading "How to cook a tart" by Nina Killham. Its about a cookbook writer and cook whose life is in a spiral, her publisher has dropped her for having too much butter in her recipes (as if! :D ), her husband is on a health kick and has gotten hiself a mistress and her daughter is an anti-food guerilla and trying to lose her virginity. The book is wickedly dark and is food porn at it's finest :D For our special break at work in April the theme is "Literary Luncheon", so I am working on gleaning some recipes from the book. There are no actual recipes, but enough descriptions and hints to come up with something. I may be doing several trial runs to decide which dish to bring.
I'm in the mood to track down and find this scumbag and break some kneescaps. Stealing from Girl Scouts, how slimy. People like this need to have instant karma applied with extreme prejudice.
