New toy

Finally picked up a Tilia FoodSaver. Gottschalks had it on sale on their website, the only problem was they don't accept their gift cards online. The staff at the local store were very wonderful and they ordered it in for us to look at (the website was very vague on details of the machine, not too mention the model number didn't match the model numbers at the Tilia website so we couldn't compare) and we were able to use the gift card there.

Turns out the model is the FoodSaver V375, which should be a good model for us. We tried it out on some coffee beans we had left over and it worked like a charm. We are going to pick up a FoodSaver Store ’n Cut just to make sure we can get straight cuts on the custom bag rolls, neither of us can cut a straight line to save our lives LOL

This will really make grocery buying more efficient as we can seriously buy in bulk and then use the food saver to vacuum pack and store things. I've a number of containers in the freezer with turkey and chicken stock. I can take them out of the containers and seal them in the food saver bags and then I can use the containers for other things.
