Sadness for the University of Idaho

Over the weekend we lost two students to two different incidences and a 3rd student involved in one of them is in critical condition.

The first was a motorcycle accident that happened in the early morning hours of Sunday. The two students, fraternity brothers, were coming back from an early morning run to a local fast food joint, when the motorcycle they were on hit a railroad tie in the frat's front yard and hit a tree. Both students were thrown from the bike, neither was wearing a helmet. Jason Yearout, 20, was declared dead at our local hospital from massive head injuries and fractures, Jack Shannon, 19, was flown to Spokane where he is in critical condition and in a coma. There were no witnesses, but police say evidence shows the bike going at a high rate of speed. Alcohol may also be involved.

The 2nd happened later Sunday in the afternoon. Details are still sketchy, but at around 5:24 pm a call was made to the police about a possible shooting. Eric McMillan, 19, a freshman UI football player, was taken by private vehicle to the local hospital in critical condition with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Witnesses told police 2 men in a car were seen driving away. Make and model of the car, along with the license plate number were given to the plice and soon the car was spotted. Two men were arrested after a 150 mile chase with speeds up to 100 mph ended at Vantage Wa when the police threw a spike strip in front of the car. The two suspects, from Seattle Wa, were transported back to Whitman Co and will be extradited to Moscow. Eric McMillan died this morning. As of yet, no motive has been given.

It is all so fucking senseless....
