Pretty decent weekend

Spent most of it re-arranging the office and getting the video shelving out of the bedroom. Moved the shelves into the office and it is amazing how much easier it goes with the right tools. When we first moved into the trailer, I only had a Black & Decker cordless screw driver to put up the shelving. It was an all day process and I was not a happy camper by the time I got it done.

This time around we had the cordless Cummins drill we bought last week and it went up in a matter of minutes (okay, we did get one of the bracket rails upside down, but that didn't take much to fix). The longest part of the whole process was taking the videos off the shelves and then getting them back on in order. We've well over 500 tapes and we discovered we have a run of 15 that had the same numbers on them as others. Figure we accidently re-loaded an old version of the database one time when the computer puked and since by that point we didn't have enough shelves to put them on, we didn't notice the duplicate numbers until now. Managed to get just about all the tapes in the office, only have some TV shows like Robin Hood and Red Dwarf, and the pro-copies of Star Trek TOS and some movies and the DVDs in the living room. Cleared out a lot of space there. Managed to move my cookbooks off the top of the teetering bookshelves in the hallway to the bookshelf in the living room. Makes it much easier to get to

During the re-arranging of the office, we managed to fry hubby's computer, so while we await the arrival of his new mother board, we get to share mine. Good thing I have access at work.

Now that the shelves are out of the bedroom, I can now look at re-decorating in there. We've a net wedding pavilion thingie we'd gotten at Goodwill a number of years ago and decided it would make a great canopy for the bed. Since the bed takes up so much room in the bedroom, that will be the central feature I'll re-do the room around. I'm kinda getting a bit of a middle eastern feeling for the room. We are thinking of painting the ceiling a black or deep blue and painting a starscape on it. With the blond color of the bed and the white of the canopy it would really set off the room. Haven't decided yet what color to do the walls, but that is down the road a ways. Right now I need to do some decluttering and flinging in the bedroom. We've one closet we can get into there is so much stuff piled in front of it.

Went to our favorite building supply place and picked up a can of stain killer spray paint. We've some leaks into the house, we still have to figure out where it is coming in and sealing it. In the meantime we've water stained spots and some nasty mold growing on a couple of them. Hit the one in the bedroom with bleach, scrubed it and let it dry. Sprayed it with the stain killer paint and boy, does it make a difference. Nice thing is, until we can get a big can of the sealer, we can spot cover the stains. Once we do the whole ceiling (stained with cigarette smoke and who knows what), then we can paint it whatever color and not worry about any of the stains seeping back thru.

Didn't do much in the garden, just pulled up a bunch of maple trees that were trying to make a start out there. Was supposed to rain this weekend, so I didn't water after Friday, but no rain, so I'll go out tonight after work and do some watering. Did water all my outside plants in pots tho. Will have to mow the lawn sometime this week.
