This originally started off as a Thank Goddess it is almost Friday post, but then the daily rag that is our local paper arrived at work and there was an article in it about a site that is raising money to send satellite phones to each of the 70 Washington Guard platoons that are being sent to Iraq soon. The program is called Operation Call Home and the goal is to raise $1,250,000 to purchase the phones and prepaid minutes to allow the men and women the those units to be able to talk with their loved ones back here at home.
These folk are answering the call of our country and one of the simplest ways we can show our support is to help them talk with their families while they are apart.
