As I mentioned, great weekend

Image
Friday was fairly low key, we did some puttering around the house and ran errands and did a bit of shopping. Saturday we got up early as we wanted to visit with friends in Spokane and do some shopping before heading to Spokane County Raceway for the race. We've only seen stock car on TV, so we were seriously looking forward to it. We met up with our friends for coffee and had an enjoyable visit, then it was time to shop. Hit Trader Joe's and picked up more of their 21 Seasoning Salute spice mix. So yummy and I love using it (in fact I grilled up chicken last night and was very liberal with the 21 Seasoning. The chicken turned out SOOOOOOO Yummy!). Out North Division to Best China Buffet for lunch and then popped over to Beyond Beads Gallery in the shopping center across the way to pick up some findings to convert some of my earrings to posts. Picked up some really nice glass beads to use in future jewelry. Then it was off to Northtown Mall to hit Torrid and JC Penney.

WEE HAW! What a weekend!

Had a serious blast this weekend, went to my first ever stock car race on Saturday. Took lots of video and pictures, still have to finish processing those. So much to write about, so will do so later when I've finished processing my brain!

Oh deer!

Image
So, while at the reception on Friday at the winery, someone noticed out the window a deer on the hill just a little ways from the building. So of course I had to grab my camera: The deer is in velvet, so that was cool to see. Then we noticed there were two of them out there: As much as I would have loved to go outside to take pics, I stayed in and snapped pics thru the window so as not to spook them while they grazed: I love living here!

More exposure!!!!!

Last Wednesday, the 18th, there was a mini art walk at the Pullman Wednesday Farmer's Market. So I sent some photos with my friend Deb who was also showing some items (along with their usual booth selling yummy organic veggies and some craft goodies she makes). I popped in after work and brought some of my jewelry along to put out. I sent 3 photos as they were looking for ag related, garden, floral what not items to represent growing things: Didn't stay too long as hubby was getting hungry and we had to hit the store to pick up stuff for burgers on the grill. Didn't sell anything, but I did get an email from Deb that the owners of a local winery invited me and the other ladies of the PWA who had art to come on the 20th to display their wares in the tasting room. So before I left work on Thursday I grabbed the 4 photos I have displayed at my desk and gathered what I have at home and at 6pm on Friday toddled to the Wawawai Canyon Winery to show my photos:

As I may have mentioned, I scored some cute tops at Ross this last weekend. This is one I can wear to work: Goes great with my white skirts. I think I have a black skirt or two it will go well with also. I LOVE the detail on the back: It is very cool and comfortable and will do nicely this fall and winter with a nice jacket or sweater over it.

Walking onions

Image
My walking onions are coming along nicely. I won't be pulling any up this year (well, maybe a couple that haven't bloomed yet), I want them to replant themselves and then I will start harvesting next year. I have cut some of the green off to use as green onions in tuna salad. Very delish! Good thing I have them corralled, as healthy as they are looking they would probably head for the hills LOL!

Hot, HOT, HOT!!!!!!!

Just a wee bit on the warm side this weekend. EEEEPPP!!!!!!! Hit 97F out at our place on Sunday and since we live in a tin box, had every fan running, all the lights off and the ACs running in the office and bedroom. Even with the fans running over the TV/Entertainment center and over my computer, the 'puter and TV kept shutting down last night due to heat issues. Weekend started off okay, but we are going to have to stop donating blood during a work day unless we take the rest of the day off. Both of us felt like crap by Friday morning, no energy and even the slightest exertion took a lot out of us. We did manage a few things. I got some laundry and a bit of dishes done, had the neighbor help me install the bedroom AC and we did get a load of items to the Hope Center. Saturday we decided to head down to Lewiston for some shopping. Hoped to get down and back before it got too hot down there, but didn't make it. It got to 104F at one point. Needless to say, we took our t

Happy July 4th, the day after :)

Hope everyone in the States had a good 4th. We did, it was a fairly low key day and quite nice. I slept in, the got up, had coffee and puttered about a bit around the house. Then it was down for a nap in the afternoon. Got up and made a fruit salad with sliced peaches, fruit cocktail, peach mango tofu and homemade whipped cream (sorry, not picture I forgot). Packed up some burgers and went to Pullman to spend the evening with her to grill, visit and watch the fireworks. Weather was great, tho I did get a little bit chilly, luckily she had extra blankets to wrap around us while we sat and watched the fireworks. Before that I noticed the moon was coming up over Pullman: Managed to get a cool shot with someone's bottle rocket going off: Then it was time for the main show. Hubby turned the radio in the van on to the station broadcasting the music for the show and the people next door did the same thing, so we had the music in stereo. Good choice of music this year. I&#
