WEEEE HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

WHEW!!!!!

Had fun watching the Boomershoot and taking Ms Ella around . She got a lot of smiles and I chatted with a number of people about her. It was a great day and the weather was wonderful. We didn't make the CommUNITY Walk on Saturday as planned, as the wind had kicked up enough to make the wind chill miserable for me and every joint started hurting and the last thing I wanted to do was get sick. So we sat it out. NEXT year we'll get there. So Saturday was a putter about and rest day. Watched TV and swapped out the DVR for the new one Dish sent. HOPEFULLY we won't have the recording problems with this one as we had with the last. The other one kept puking when we tried to manually record the races and we ended up missing two of them GRRRRRRRRRRRR Still processing video from the shoot. I did get the vid for the Boomershoot Blogger day done: Got the pics done for Boomershoot, here is the slide show: Thanks again to Ry , who let me shoot his .50 cal: It was GREAT! I'd had a

Happy Boobquake Day!

Image
So today is the day the Jen at Blag Hag jokingly decided would be Boobquake day to twit the idjits who are claiming that "immodestly dressed" women were causing earthquakes. Seems her jesting post hit the net and took off like wildfire. So to celebrate Boobquake and prove the idjits wrong:

Boomershoot 2010 Blogger/Media Day

Image
So wandered out to the Boomershoot site yesterday for the media day. Had a very good time, tho was rather soaked (at least my shoes were) by the time we were done. Due to the wet weather, a few people didn't make it so things were accelerated and I was home taking a nap by 2:30 or so. As mentioned, it was a little damp: At the shed for putting the explosive targets together: Checking to see if the target boxes will fit in the new bags: One of the components that some silly bugs got into: (that particular component is a desiccant, so needless to say, the bugs weren't long for this world) NOT good eats (the green stuff is antifreeze): Packed and almost ready to go: Setting up the targets: All set for noise: Everyone got a chance to shoot a target: No still pics of me shooting, I am still working on the video that hubby got of me. Hubby got to shoot, but he doesn't like his photo taken, so here is when his target went BOOM!

Repeat after me....

Separate but equal isn't Separate but equal isn't Separate but equal isn't Separate but equal isn't Separate but equal isn't NCLR Launches Visibility Campaign to Expose Tragic Case Where Sonoma County Separated Elderly Gay Couple, Sold Off All Belongings They did all the right paperwork to ensure they would not be separated if one was hospitalized, that each had legal power of attorney for the other yet the hospital and the county ignored the all that and kept saying they were nothing but roommates during court proceedings!!!!!!!!! The county is now saying there were separated due to domestic violence, yet no charges were filed, not one was arrested and since when do the authorities place the alleged perpetrator of said domestic violence in a nursing home and then seize and sell all their belongings and terminate the lease on their home? At the very least we have some serious elder abuse by a local government who pretty much kidnapped a citizen, had him held against

The Lane Bryant ad that ABC and Fox refused to air

Seems ABC and Fox just couldn't bring themselves to air the new Lane Bryant commercial for their Cacique lingerie (of which I LOVE their bras, I have several). ABC refused to air it at all during Dancing with the Stars and Fox demanded lots of re-edits, refused and only ran it during the final 10 minutes of American Idol after LB threaten to "pull the ad buy" The executives at both networks seem to have a serious problem with women actually having cleavage GASP !!!!!!!!!!! and serious curves. If they can run racy ads from Victoria's Secret in the same time slots, then they can't say an ad that is the same, only with much curvier models who look more like the majority of American women is unacceptable.

Okay, fingers crossed everyone!

Dropped off the application and CD of some photos I hope to flog to the local hospital which is looking for artwork from local artists for a new office space. I was told by a friend who is also submitting (and I have to say, "told" is putting it mildly. More like ordered LOL) that I would also be submitting some things. So I went thru, found some really nice images I haven't used for my Zazzle store , figured out what sizes I would be able to print them out at and now we'll see. If they do want any, I will have to also see about getting them matted and mounted after getting them printed and then figure out what to charge for them. Not sure how soon they will be making the decisions, the deadline for submissions is 5pm today. Very nice weekend, tho I really wish I had gotten my rain barrel set up on Saturday. We had enough rain to have filled it. Oh well, we are supposed to be getting more rain this week. FINALLY got a bunch of recycling taken in. We've been stashi

A good way to spend a late Friday

As promised

Yesterday's lunch: My tummy and taste buds are still very, very happy LOL!

Seriously happy tummy

Had lunch at VJ's BBQ. Hubby is home not feeling good and said I didn't have to come home, so I went out for lunch. Was originally going to go to Taco Time, but then I saw VJ's special for today on their Facebook page and that decided it. Had 1/4 lb of brisket and a Cajun sausage link smothered in sauce and a bag of Tim's Sea Salt & Vinegar chips and a really tasty bottle of sweet tea made with sugar. Been a while since I've had spicy food like that, so my tummy is a little upset but still happy and the taste buds are ecstatic LOL! I don't get to eat there as often as I like since the sauce is way to spicy for hubby. I did get pics, but realized that bringing the minimum stuff with me to work this morning since I didn't feel like humping 2 liters of water and my back pack up from the parking lot meant I left my back pack at home with the USB cable I need to download my camera. So I'll have to wait until later to do so. Got a chance to meet a local bl

One more day please!

Really could use another day of weekend to slouch around. Didn't get a whole heck of a lot done this weekend, tho the weather turned out to be not half bad. If we'd have the energy we would have gone fishing. My neighbor gave me some red potato seed potatoes yesterday. I'll get them cut up in the next day or two and then let them air out a day or so and then I can set up my first potato bin. I need to lay my hands on some more bins as I want to get several other varieties of potatoes going. Fiddler's Ridge has some I can get, Yukon golds for sure. I do want to lay my hands on some purple potatoes as those are very yummy and a cool color. I'm going to get my rain barrel set up this week. We've rainy weather and the lows are only in the upper 30s. I was looking at putting it up on a platform high enough so I could get decent flow for watering any containers I've either hung or have one shelves. But hubby found a nice little drill powered pump thru Harbor Freig

Attack of the Blob

Image
Poor Ms Ella, there she was sitting and enjoying the heat from the register on a cold, cold morning, when she was attacked by the Blob!!

YAY!

It is finally Friday, the sun is out and the wind has died down. Frickin' cold this morning tho. Hubby had an early client call, so we were up at 6ish. Good thing he'd set the alarm on his watch, hadn't realized when the power blipped at home yesterday (fish tank was off all afternoon) that it tripped the clock in the bedroom. So with was flashing Philps when I finally looked at it this morning. Needless to say, was out the door early and I am struggling to stay awake. Need to see about some more coffee at some point. The bruise on my finger where the gal poked me yesterday to check my iron levels is fading. Was a bit surprised I'd bruised like that since it wasn't that much of a needle poke. No major plans for the weekend, mostly just putter around the house. Hubby picked up a nice Mahjong set, he used to play it when he was previously married. He's been wanting a set, but the ones we've come across have been very pricey and exceedingly cheep looking. But

Dad rat it and FRIBBLE!

Popped over to the Commons to donate blood, found out I was still in their files even after 15 years (which has been how long since I last donated), filled out the paperwork, popped out to the bus and ended up not giving blood thanks to a too fast pulse rate. WAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least I know my iron levels are fantastic, tho my temp was a bit over 99F, so I must be running some kind of low grade something that boosted my pulse a bit. I was going to take pics to blog and even had a great title picked out that would guarantee LOTS of traffic: "Fat chick gets poked!" LOL!!!!!!!!! Oh well, they are back at the U beginning of May, so we'll shoot for trying again then. Wild and woolly weather today, LOTS of wind (apparently part of Moscow had the power knocked out) and snow and hail and a bit of rain, between the sunshine. We pulled the flagpole down at home as it was whipping about pretty good this morning. I was rather amazed to find we hadn't been

Almost halfway there

It was actually rather nice this morning when we went out the door, unfortunately the weather bug keeps popping up a "severe weather" warning. Went to a friend's for dinner last night. She had some paintings she'd done that I took pictures of so she could submit them to the local hospital which is looking for works from local artists and photographers. So I will process those and also go thru my photos and see what I have I can submit of my own work. They are going to pay, so if I can sell them a few, that would be so way cool! Maybe even get enough money towards a new camera . Speaking of cameras, I need to find a class in digital photography so I can actually figure out what I am doing LOL. I've gotten good enough on my own, but still don't understand things like exposures and f stops and all that. I do need to actually learn all this so I can get even better. The one class I can find thru the U lists "35mm adjustable camera required, plus additional co

Oh for FUCKS sake!!!!!!

Of all the lowdown, slimy, despicable crap that someone could pull: Fake prom staged to trick lesbian kids "Mississippi school that canceled dance to keep female couple away relents -- then throws the real party across town" THIS was done by ADULTS!!!! ADULTS!!!! You know, the ones who are grown up and should know better then to pull low down mean tricks that reek of elementary school bullies! This is so far down on the disgusting scale that slime from a septic tank is far superior on a life form scale then these parents and school administrators. All I can say is kudos to Constance for holding her head up high and believing in herself and I hope karma serious bites those dipwads who pulled this bullshit on their collective and individual asses.

I WANT MY SPRING BACK!!!!!!!!!

Getting a little tired of the cold, rain and snow. Rain wouldn't be so bad if it were warmer. I think I will use this template for my blog for a while, it is a nice Springy one and hopefully that will give the weather a clue to bring Spring back. Looks like I may have to seed my garden again, I was checking yesterday and not much is growing, tho I think I had some greens starting to make an appearance. If it is nice enough and not too wet this weekend I will do just that. I think I will see about getting my rain barrel set up, I do want to try and put it up higher so I get better flow for watering some of my containers when I get them set up. Baked a ham yesterday, Winco had them for 98 cents a pound. I am a bit miffed tho. You used to get a ham with a lot of rind on it. It was great for cutting off and chopping into smaller pieces and baking separately and making cracklins out of it. Now there is barely any left on. I had to dig thru the whole bin at the store to find one with a d

BWAHAHAHA! So very, very true!

This came via email from a friend, so I simply HAD to share it LOL!!!!! ----------- If you are at least 30, or older (like most of us), you might think this is hilarious! When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... Barefoot... BOTH ways… yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that I'm over the ripe old age of at least thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have the Internet. If we wanted to kn

It's FRIDAY!!!! YAY!!! and it's snowing!!! BOOOOO!!!!!

Snow is coming down again, big fluffy flakes. It started this morning for a bit, then stopped and started again. Here is what it looked like about noon: At least it isn't sticking, but the icky weather means no fishing :( WAAHHHHH!!!!!!! I really need to go fishing and I want a nice sunny day for it. As I may have mentioned before, I love my fishing, but don't like freezing to death doing it. Oh well, good excuse for a quiet weekend, maybe get some designs done up for my shop. May even think about baking some bread and digging a thing of split pea soup out of the deep freeze. Not been doing a lot of real cooking this week, been too blah. But I did make some wraps with London broil the other night. Hubby wanted beef and something a bit different and we hadn't done wraps in a while. So I sliced the meat, simmered it on top of the stove in its own juices and added a packet of au jus gravy. Let that simmer longer and then added baby spinach and let it wilt down and then mixed i
