Blogfest '09

So today was Blogfest '09 for Huckleberries Online . The hubby and I drove up with Digger and it was great seeing people I met last year and the folk who are new on the blog. I think the highlight was Trish Gannon showing up in the infamous condom dress. It was GREAT! Blogfest was held at Moon Dollars in Post Falls and the pizza was seriously to die for. Sorry for no pics, by the time I thought of getting a pic, the slice was gone from my plate LOL. I guess we'll have to stop in next time up there and make sure I get pictures. Speaking of pics, I also got some video of the awards ceremony and as soon as I get that downloaded and processed will get it posted on YouTube and then on my blog. Oh, forgot to mention, I got the farther traveled to the blogfest award simply because I live about 4.5 miles south of Digger LOL

DADNABIT!!!! BE SPRING ALREADY!!!!!!

It snowed some yesterday and today it is still cold and a bunch of the snow is still left. I.DON'T.WANT.ANY.MORE.SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is fine up in the mountains adding to the snow pack, but I WANT IT GONE FROM MY YARD!!!!!!! I am so ready for spring it isn't funny. I am tired of being cold and I am tired of not being able to go out and play in the dirt, which is currently frozen solid. SIGH!!!!!! Time to get working on the herb pot for my kitchen. Just have to decide if I am going to start with plants or seeds. At least it is Friday and the sun is shining. I am hoping it does make it up to the near 40F temps they are predicting, that should melt off the last of the snow. Not too many plans for the weekend. Got the Huckleberry Online Blogfest to go to and am looking forward to visiting with folk. I will have my cameras so I can get plenty of pictures and vid of all the folk and fun. I need to start another batch of the 5 minute bread. It will probably be the master dough, tho i

It's time! The Annual Squishing of the Boobies!

So I had my annual mammogram first thing this morning. Not really something I like to have to get up early for, but it is over and done with for this year and now I just have to await the results. Fingers crossed I don't get that stupid letter again saying they need to do further examinations. Ultrasounds are freakin' cold! Normally it is a simple in and out, but apparently the boobies had other ideas as we ended up taking a few extra pics as things weren't laying right on the little table. Luckily it was mostly just a wee bit uncomfortable, but one shot hurt like heck. I guess because the booby had to be in a slightly different spot to get the pic done, thankfully that one came out fine and we didn't have to repeat it. But I did leave with a very pretty carnation: I do like our imaging center, they keep the rooms nice and warm and the people are so nice and try and make the experience some what pleasant. While we are on the subject of girl things, here is something I g

Made it thru Monday

Not to badly, it was raining when I got off work. TC surprised us by coming into the house when we invited him. TC is the semi-feral me and the neighbors have been feeding and I had brought into the house last year when the weather was so icky. He has been spending time inside next door and I guess he finally figured out that he was welcome to come in for dinner at our house. Considering how often we picked him up and brought him in he should have clued in a lot sooner LOL. So he got dinner and lots of scritches. He's finally jumping up on the couch with us and getting comfy, tho Scrapper is NOT a happy camper about that. He and TC do square off a bit, but so far no fur has flown and no seriously harsh words have been exchanged. Mostly warning noises. After a while TC indicated he wanted to go back out, so I let him out. Our dinner was yummy, tho I will need to work on the Olive Oil bread dough a bit. It was too wet to make proper pizza crusts and I ended up scrapping my crust off

MONDAY!!! YAY!!!!!...........NOT!!!!!!!!!!

Tho for a Monday, it hasn't been too bad. It almost felt like spring this morning with the temp about 43F outside. Did coffee this morning, so that is helping make Monday not so bad. Didn't to a whole lot this weekend. Did try out the bread recipes and YUM!!!!!!!! The book is a definite keeper, so will see about getting my own copy when I can. In the meantime I will be putting their blog on my daily foodie blog reading for any new recipes and tips they come up with. I've a batch of the olive oil bread in the fridge and plan on pizza for dinner. Just have to pick up a few things at the store after work. Just need 'shrooms and meat toppings and maybe a bit more cheese, tho I still have plenty of goat cheeses in the fridge to give mine a bit of a different flavor twist. A tad bit irritated. Watched the race yesterday, I'd set it up to record and added 90 minutes to the record time. We got all but the last 4 laps. ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's finally Friday

and I am now firmly in the 21st century, whether I like it or not LOL I finally have my new cell phone up and running. Hubby got it fully activated yesterday. I went thru my old cell (my plain, ordinary only makes phone calls and had a couple of games on it, cell phone with the pretty yellow ducky face plate) and transferred all my phone numbers over. Had to do it by hand as the ability to hook it up to a computer is disabled on it (bummer). I did go online and get a couple ring tones for it so I know when it is hubby calling me. I have one for when he calls from the home phone and another for when he calls me on his cell. Motorola has a cell phone recycling program and there was an envelop to send my old one in to them. We'll see what there might be locally, tho the battery on it is pretty thrashed and won't hold a charge very long, so it might be better to send it off in hopes they can find a new battery that works and then they can donate it to a group to give it to someone

Hump Day!!!!!

Had my doctors appointment this morning to get the results from my blood draw. Conclusion is I can cut my dose of ATD in half. With luck I can go off it all together in 3 months and be in remission again. We'll see. In the meantime I go in next week to get my annual boobie squishing and I scheduled my annual physical for May when I get my next blood draw for my thyroid levels. Fun stuff. Hubby forgot I had the appointment this morning and had scheduled a client over in Pullman. Since the Forester is in the shop and we are borrowing the neighbor's car he had to drop me off at the doctor's office early (45 minutes early. As much as I dislike electronic books, reading 1634: The Baltic War on my palm passed the time nicely). After the appointment I walked to work. I miscalculated how far I can go on my knee a wee bit. The distance was twice as far as I usually can go without a problem, so I am in a wee bit of pain. Luckily I still have some pills left from after the surgery, so

Another blast from the past

I still have this 45 LOL!

Out with the old, in with the new

So, my poor little Nokia cell phone is dying and we finally decided to replace it. Tracfone had a really good deal on a Bluetooth compatible Motorola flip phone so I went with that. It arrived on Saturday: It isn't completely activated as when we first got the Tracfone we had to get a Pullman number. Hubby went to transfer my minutes to the new phone and we discovered that they no longer do Pullman for service, so I have to get a new sim card and get a Moscow number. Don't ask me why, since I've been using a Pullman number all this time, but this is techno stuff, so I will go okay and let hubby figure it out. It will be nice to have the same area code as home and hubby tho. So until the new card gets here I have been familiarizing myself with the phone. It does have a camera which I really don't need since I carry a real one with me at all times, but I have discovered it is useful for wallpaper and screen savers for the phone. Since I have to give up my little ducky fac

A blast fro the past to brighten your day

or make it seriously surreal LOL I'd so forgotten they were on this show.

OOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Gotta love troll traffic!! Numbers for both this blog, my web page AND Ms Ella's adventures are WAY up!!!! THANK YOU TROLLS!!!!!! You might want to order yourselves up a t-shirt or something so you can advertise in real life who you are.

That went fast!

WAYYYYY to short a weekend. Didn't help I was feeling a bit blah for most of it. I was happy the sun was out and it was almost warm enough to open up the house, but I would have had to shut it up again, so left it as is. Went to the shop to watch the race. WHOA!!!!!!!! Great race and where the heck did Kevin Harvick come from at the end. Congrats Kevin, gave us an exciting end of the race, even if none of my guys one. Oh well, there is still the cup series hehehehehe. I must say, watching the race on a big screen HD tv has now gotten me spoiled. I want one. No place to put one, but I want one anyways hehehehehe. Did manage to get some puttering about outside on Saturday. Got a few things that needed to go into the shed in it and finally got the hose off the ground and rolled on the holder. Having been so inactive last year thanks to the knee, I was a bit tired after only doing a little bit. I do need to get a decent garden cart. Trying to haul stuff in the wheel barrow was a pain,

Life as an eggplant

So yesterday was a seriously blech day and I couldn't quite figure out why. I'd had a very difficult time waking up and had absolutely no energy and not mental capacity to deal with life. Even after a nice big cup of coffee. It wasn't until late afternoon I finally figured out the problem. I was an eggplant. Which is decidedly better then being a slice of toast, but not great for trying to get thru a work day. Luckily work wasn't too strenuous or else I would have been under my desk turning into a mushroom. Now, there are times being an eggplant isn't bad, like on weekends when you don't have to be anywhere or actually do anything, but at work it is not a good thing. As I said, luckily it wasn't a strenuous day mental-wise and my co-workers understood completely (not to mention, rather amused LOL). The only thing that was going to bring me out of the state of eggplant was chocolate, lots and lots of chocolate. So we hit Winco after work and picked up some ch

Blech!

Can we just skip today and go straight to tomorrow? Or even better yet, Saturday? Blech :P

Made pizza Sunday night, this time I had more success with the pizza peel. This time I pre-baked the crust a few minutes on the stone and then added the sauce and toppings and was able to put the pizza on the stone and get it off without losing everything in the process: We had stir fry for dinner Monday night and I simply had to get a pic of the fresh broccoli and cauliflower:
