Survived the weekend

Friday I had circle and had an enjoyable time. Good food, good friends and good rit. It was a very nice in the circle down by the pond. Since it was on a Friday night, I didn't get home until 9:30, so Friday was a bit of a long day. We'd hit the grocery store so I could pick up something to take and then hubby dropped me off so I could catch a lift out. Okay, granted I had got it into my brain that rit was at their house, I had forgotten completely we were doing it elsewhere. Worked out okay since hubby wasn't up for socializing as his back was going out again and he needed to go home and rest. Saturday we popped out early to pick up lasagna fixin's as we had a friend coming over for dinner that night. I had the noodles and some homemade canned tomato sauce I was gifted with last year, but needed the cheeses, ground beef and other odds and sods. Winco had a 10 lb tube of ground beef on for $1.67 a pound and the one I grabbed had a $3 off coupon, so we scored. I divvied

I was expecting red at the most, but BLUE!!!! SQQQQUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got comments on both. The one of Nick the dog said "Good. Eyes need more light. How?" and the other was "WOW! Great!". So not bad considering I was up against people with real cameras and a lot more experience. I never did get to the fair, except yesterday to get my photos. Friday night we decided to stay in and Saturday we ended up to exhausted to do more then pop out to get groceries and then watch the previous weeks race. I did get a bit more ambitious yesterday, I actually made it on top of the roof. I don't like ladders and it is not the height I am scared of, it is the sudden stop at the bottom. But up on the roof I got and got most of the swamp cooler sealed off with caulking and snow coat. Also hosed off the roof and next week we'll get back up again and see about snow coating as much as we can and that will be done. Friday night did not

FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

It has been a long week, so looking forward to the weekend. I got my two photos done and entered into the fair on Wednesday. Will wander over sometime this weekend and see how they did. We are thinking of going tonight, but will have to see how we are feeling after work. It has been a long time since I've been to a fair at night. I'll be taking my camera along to see what kind of photos I can get. I do want to try and finish painting this weekend, at least the major part. Still need to get on the roof and slather snow coat over the whole thing, or at least as much as we can. Most definitely the swamp cooler needs to get sealed once and for all. I'm tired of buckets in the hallway on rainy days. Still need to soak up some chick peas, so will try and get that done this weekend. Not too mention pull stuff out fo the freezer to see what I have and then process several packages some pork carnitas we picked up at Winco the other night. At some point I do need to do up more designs

Thank the Ghodz it's Tuesday!

I barely survived Monday, which started Sunday night. I really, really hope that mouse was dead before it went thru the wash. SIGH!!! Then the head piece on my CPAP mask broke, so I got to sleep without the machine. Needless to say, I was NOT a happy camper yesterday morning between crappy sleep and a sore throat. I'm not sure where the sore throat came from but it at least went away by late afternoon. Discovered the medical supply people don't carry my particular mask anymore and the last closest available one was in Boise. They could ship it to me and I'd maybe get it tomorrow. I couldn't wait, talked to the guy, looked at what was available and went with the Swift LT style nasal pillow set up. I really don't like having straps on my face, but I was desperate. It will take some more adjusting, but I think the new mask should work. I had my follow up for my blood work yesterday morning. It was definitely Monday. The doc was about a half hour late as he'd gotte

Not only is it Friday, I harvested my first ever potatoes last night!!!! These are the ones I grew in the garbage can: Granted I didn't get many, but I proved the concept and next year I will know better what I am doing. I plan on at least 3 more bins and a couple more varieties of potato. The ones I grew this year are: Yukon Gold and Red Norland I tossed the smaller ones in with the roast I did last night. The two largest ones will be for another meal: They were very yummy. Speaking of yummy, look what I got in the mail yesterday: Thanks Dame Janus!!!! I can't wait to try it this weekend. I'll soak up a big batch of chick peas as I also want to make some falafel so I can make patties to take for lunches next week. Not sure I will do any painting this weekend. Have to see how things go. I would like to try and get some fishing is at some point if hubby is feeling up for it. If not, then paint I will. Would be nice to have the green completely gone.

Weird critter Wednesday

Not sure what it is, but this guy was hanging out while I was painting, so chased him around until I could snap a pic:

Serious pain, again

Got more of the house painted yesterday. Took the faux shutters off and got going: Finally got the north side finished: Still have about half of the south side to finish, I was going to try and get it done yesterday, but I hit my limit of up and down ladders and having to stop to spray yellow jacket nests and decided it will be another weekend. Still haven't decided on what color to paint the trim. Didn't get a whole heck of a lot done the rest of the weekend. Mostly a bit of shopping, some puttering about and lots and lots of naps. Added more photos for the photo contest . Still have a few ideas to shoot so I can add to a couple of the other catagories. Thought I was going to get a new camera this weekend, we found a nice Nikon down at Costco, but decided to wait and check out reviews. Glad I did, reviews on it were not good. So will keep looking. I'm still leaning towards a Canon Powershot G10 unless something else gets my attention.

Time keeps ticking along

So I didn't get a whole heck of a lot done this weekend. I thought about painting on Sunday, just never got around to it. Yesterday started off with a not welcome visitor. Seems Rum Tum decided he really HAD to bring his latest live toy in to the house to play with. Bad enough he brings in mice, this time he managed to nab a bird. SIGH!!!!!!!!! We tried to ignore it as long as we could as this was at 5am. Eventually, after using the hubby's head as a launching pad to the head board a couple of time, bird and cat left the bedroom (I am assuming as the action ended shortly thereafter). A bit before 7 am we heard the flutter of wings and finally got up. At first I thought it was a bat, until I got my glasses on, more light and a closer look of the critter perched on the rope light. It was a finch and that finch was very fast. So we work on trying to catch it after shutting the door and making sure there were no 4 legged furry helpers in the room. We eventually had to pull the AC u
