WHEWWWWWwwwwwww!

The week is finally winding down. It has been BUSY!!!!!!! LOTS of profs waiting until the last minute to get stuff put on for class reserve. Luckily it wasn't as bad as it has been in the past, but I do wish they would try and bring stuff in with more lead time before classes start. So tomorrow will be my first Friday at work in a while. Definitely going to miss it. Oh well, there will be next summer for short work weeks. Hope to finish the painting on the trailer this weekend. Our friend took his ladder back as he needs it for work, so hopefully I can get it back on Saturday to finish at least the one side and the front. The portion on the porch will be easy at least. Sales at Purple Ducky Political are starting to pick up. With luck sales there will match my sales at Purple Ducky Designs and both shops start selling more. I've been getting lots of traffic, so at least they are being seen. Picked my first cherry tomatoes yesterday and there are more coming on. My one Moscovi

Well, it's a start

FINALLY got started on painting the house on Saturday. Borrowed an extension ladder, hubby got the paint sprayer set up and so I finally got going late Saturday: The paint had separated over the year since I bought it and I was confronted with the bright magenta color when I first opened the bucket. It took me a while to get it mixed, but I managed: I decided to start on the back end and after a couple test sprays on the back of the shed, started in: The brick color is SOOOOOOOOOO much nicer then the faded avocado green. I was able to get the back end done and most of the north side before I ran out of light and the sprayer got cranky. I had planned on finishing at least the north side, the east end with the kitchen windows and what I could on the south side, but by the time I was done Saturday night I was in screaming pain. I'll finish things up next weekend and then start deciding what color to paint the trim. I do know I want to go around all the windows in black. So not a whole

I have very strange kitties

Of course some people will say all kitties are strange, but mine tend to be stranger then most. I had Patches who loved to play fetch with milk rings and would eat the pineapple of a pineapple and ham pizza, then there was KiKi who adored Doritos (the spicier the better) and now Rum Tum tried to mug me for a packet of jalapeno processed food stuff last night. A friend gave hubby a box of MREs so we decided to open one last night. He'd gotten some from the friend previously so I've tried a couple of them to see if they are as bad as people complain about them. They are surprisingly good considering. The one we had last night was chicken in salsa with fried rice (at least it was called fried rice, which was about as close to fried rice as it was going to get), the aforementioned jalapeno cheese stuff, "patriotic" cookies, a packet of M&Ms, a slice of snack bread and the usual other things in a MRE package. I hadn't even gotten the cheese stuff opened before Rum

Seriously blergh!

Survived turning 48. Spent most of Friday re-doing my shop web page expanding out the pages and tweaking the look. Still needs a bit of work. Some of the php isn't working quite the way I want it, so will need to figure out why and tweak it some more. Friday night the coven got together for a Lammas rit. It was short and sweet and we all had a good time hanging out. Saturday turned out pretty nice. Took Ms Ella to Palouse Pride . Got lots of pictures . Kind of over did it tho, by the time I got home my knees were screaming. Did some pain meds and muscle relaxants and that barely put a dent in it. But I had lots of fun and Ms Ella got lots of smiles, so she was happy. Sunday puttered about a bit, hit Winco to pick up some breakfast stuff and ingredients to make something to take to the pool party. Decided on sauteed onions with paprika and Mexican blend cheese: Kind of a cheesy onion dip or a very yummy side to chicken or beef. I took crackers to go with it. It is a variation on my

EEEPPPPP!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birt.... 48!?!?!?! What do you mean 48?!?!?!?!?! sigh! Happy Birthday to me! LOL

Almost there

A lovely, cool, drizzly morning. Which is good as I forgot to water my tomatoes last night. We were both seriously fried, so we hit Winco, grabbed a chicken picnic dinner and hid out in the bedroom eating chicken and chocolate covered peanuts and raisins and watched Pawn Stars . We are loving this show, tho I think someone needs to slap Corey upside the head the head a few times. Tried watching Police Women of Broward County, but deleted it within 10 minutes. Luckily we had lots of other stuff to watch, John Stewart, The Colbert Report and Warehouse 13. Been getting a lot of reading in. Currently working on Christopher Moore . He's a very funny writer. Speaking of funny writers, I want everyone to run, not walk to their nearest independent book store and pick up Joan Opyr's books "Idaho Code" and "From Hell to Breakfast". If you can't get to a bookstore you can order them from Powell's Books or Amazon.com . My hubby loves them and he isn't a my

If only I could get my kitties to do this!

ETA: Okay, apparently Hulu won't play anywhere other then the US. Silly Hulu! So here is the video on YouTube (the embed code was disabled).

Summer's almost over WAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Only two more Fridays off before school starts again and I go back to a 5 day work week. It has been so nice having 3 day weekends, even tho I haven't gotten everything I needed done done. Still need to paint the trailer. I think I am going to say the heck with waiting to rent a power washer and just hose the place down as best as I can and just start painting. If I wait until we can rent a sprayer, it will be next year before I will get to paint and I am really getting sick and tired of avocado green. Got a bit of puttering about this weekend done. Got the bathroom rack moved and installed over the tub and more cleaning done. As mentioned in the previous post I got a number of designs done and posted to my Zazzle shop . I did have to take one down this morning when I realized I'd misspelled assault. I'll fix it tonight and get the products reposted. Really enjoyed the rain on Friday, my rain barrel is full again and I didn't need to water anything this weekend. Finally

AAHHHHHHH!!!!! Blessed coolness

Had a bit of a thunderstorm last night, tho it didn't drop as much rain as we would have liked. My rain barrel is still awfully empty. It did bring in cooler temps tho. This morning was really nice when we left the house. They are predicting 30% chance of t-storms this afternoon and a bit of rain tomorrow and cooler temps for the next week. I can handle 80s. Poor hubby had a touch of heat exhaustion yesterday. Popped out to a friends place yesterday after work to take some pics of an art project she is entering into a contest for recycled art. The organizers wanted pics of it for advertising the contest, so with luck I will get a picture credit on whatever they use them on. Getting my stuff seen will go a long ways to making my photography a money making proposition and if I can manage to start making some decent money from my pics in other ways other then my Zazzle shop I would be very happy. Speaking of getting my stuff seen, I am going to enter a couple photos into this years c

Okay, Alaska is REALLY sounding good.

I just don't think I can deal with the winters, but this heat is really getting to me. It was 104F in the shade according to our thermometer on Saturday. Friday I attempted to get some outside work done, but it was too hot, so I retreated to the bedroom with the AC and my laptop. Watched the rest of the True Blood season 1 episodes we had on the DVR. For some reason we didn't get the last couple, so had to find synopsis's so I could at least figure out what was happening in the couple season 2 epis I watched. I'm really enjoying it. Have season 1 on the Netflix list so I can see that last couple episodes. The hubby got my graphics tablet software on my laptop. Since I broke the DVD player when I dropped it, I can't load discs on it. So we had to sneaker net it. It is nice to have the tablet hooked up to my laptop. I hate using the touch pad on it and using the pen works so much better. It works WAY better then the mini mouse I have for it. Saturday I worked a bit in
