One problem with Fridays

Image
even faux Fridays is I really don't want to be at work LOL. I'd rather be anywhere except here. Oh well. No plans for the weekend, just puttering around. Hoping it will rain enough to soften the ground so I can start ripping grass out of several spots. I do need to work on the front strip and I would like to get the strip along the back fence dug up so I can start planting things. I also plan on finishing weeding the one garden spot and get my lettuce and spinach re-seeded. I'm going to look for some white carrot seeds, since the transplants are not doing at all well. Everything else is doing great with the exception of one tomato plant. I think the one sweet pepper is trying to bud and it isn't very big. Have to get down and close to double check. Here is a pic of last week's catch: Had some fun with the macro setting: Do need to get back into some serious photographing. Been kinda, eh, of late.

WOOO FRICKIN' HOOOO!!!!!!!

I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! BTW, I got a B in my Anthro class hehehehehe

Complete neatness!

Joy Nash, of Fat Rant video fame has her own blog, entitled Fat Rant .

Out playing last Friday

Wasn't out for too long, but long enough to shoot my Vaquero, Blackhawk, snubby and hubby's semi-autos.

Arrrggghhhh!!!!!!

The twit got out of jail this morning and of course EVERYONE had to cover the event. CNN had her on the front page for the longest time. Sorry, she should have been ignored, all the news helicopters and cars chasing after her should have been covering REAL news. She has been quoted (allegedly, I doubt she could come up with a coherent thought and be able to string two or more concepts together without help) that she's learned her lesson. I seriously doubt it. The twit marched out of jail acting like it was any party night and was lapping up the attention the idjits who showed up were giving her. If she really had learned a lesson, her parents would have met her at the back door and quietly whisked her home where she could finish learning how to be a real human being instead of a shallow waste of DNA and actually DO something with her life instead of taking attention from REAL people who deserve to be noticed. Case in point: Stepha Henry, the 22-year-old college grad who went missin

Of course!

We install the air conditioners and we have torrential rains that night. Hehehehehehehe We finally got the air conditioners in the office and bedroom. Had to cut a piece of MFD to fill in the space above the AC in the bedroom to seal the window. Needless to say, it wasn't a perfect cut, but with some galvanized stripes and using the screws for the windows, it is in place. Luckily I used the DAP foam stuff to fill in the gaps and just cover the edges, it deluged about 11 pm. No leaks, tho we'd wanted to use verathane on the board to water proof it. It will be a couple days til we can get that done, the board needs to dry out a bit. We don't have that worry with the office AC, it is under the porch roof so is protected. Kitties are unhappy, they can't go in and out that window anymore, even tho we now have the back door window open. It is much more fun to go thru the office window and see what they can knock off the bench hehehehehehehehehe. Speaking of kitties, Scrapper

WEEKEND!!!!!

Came home last night and fixed a quickie salad for each of us using bagged salad mix and cut up some turkey ham and a couple lsices of Tillamook swiss cheese and topped with a nice garlic ceasar dressing. Then we loaded up and headed out to Spring Valley and fished to our hearts content. I love that new bait we got, Power Bait power eggs. First cast I reeled in a nice 10 inch rainbow. Hubby limited out (tho a couple we would have tossed back as too small, we usually dont keep anything under 8 inches. But they swallowed the kooks) and I caught 3 I kept. I got too cold after the sun went behind the ridge, so I figured that was a good catch. Came home and cleaned fish. I kept two out and packaged up the rest and popped them in the freezer. The two I sprinkled with Old Bay lemon and herb seasoning and dredged in flour and fried up in butter. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! Didn't get to bed unitl midnight and I took a couple PMs, I was hurting like crazy. Poor Nicky, everytime I woke u

Sniff!!!!!

Caught a Tim McGraw song called "If You're Reading This" on the internet radio and went looking for the whole thing since I couldn't rewind to listen from the beginning. Found his performance on the 2007 ACMs on YouTube: also found a vid where the gal did a photo montage to the song. The pictures she used really sets off the song.

Mmmmmmm, looking forward to the weekend

Found a Christian troll on the Huckleberries blog . Typical unimaginative twit: "I am not afraid of your spells, Jean, or your leader. Sorry. Ignorance is being a witch. Enjoy Hell, OK?" Was debating playing with it, but I'm not really into playing with anonymous twits who obviously aren't playing with a full deck. We'll probably install the air conditioners this weekend, even tho the temps are cooling off again. Might as well get it done now. Just need to figure out how to get everything sealed properly. Summer Solstice on Saturday, we are having a nice low key rit. Have to figure out what I am taking for nibblies. Hubby wanted beef last night, so we picked up some fake crab and some packet hollandais and had steak neptune with salad and sweet corn. The corn tasted really yummy with the hollandaise sauce. Just had an odd thought, I wonder if I can make up a big batch of homemade hollandaise and portion it out and freeze it. Have to run it by my freezer group and

OH...WOW!!!!!!!

Got a call this mroning from a friend and fellow coven mate who gets the Spokesman. Seems I got mentioned in Dave Oliveria's print version of Huckleberries : " Huckleberries: Blogger says Wiccan teen on a karmic crash course (6/21/2007) This 'n' That: Moscow blogger JeanC, a self-described "witch with a gun," has no use for the Wicca follower who allegedly was involved in the attempt to burn down a school." Can't access the column on the net, most of the paper is subscription, so I will have to wait until the papers come in via the mail later this morning to see me in print. edited to add: Dave posts an online version of his column on the blog, so it is there.

Sigh!

Four arrested in arson at school in Coeur d'Alene (edited to change the link to one people can get to. It is a very short version of what the Spokesman had). One of them claims to be Wiccan. I cry bull dooky on her, she's no more Wiccan then I am the Queen of England. Here's a clue Mz Wiccan Wannabe,Wiccans don't run around burning down schools, it is against the Rede, which you probably haven't even heard of. There is also the Three Fold Law, which I am so looking forward to seeing how it lands on your butt. So here is a brief lesson: The Wiccan Rede: "An ye harm none, do what thou wilt" In plain English, do what you want as long as you don't harm others. Now Ms Clueless, you decided you wanted to burn down a building. I hate to tell you this, but this brings harm to others. Not only did someone own that building, it was a school and you decided it would be fun to burn it down. Not only did you bring harm to the owners of the building, you brought har

Veggie garden vid

Okay, took a while, for some reason YouTube could't process it yesterday, but here is the vid of the rest of my garden:

Garden vids!

Okay, right now just one video, the other one is still processing. Here's my flower garden: I'll post my veggie garden as soon as it gets done processing.

'Tis Monday, again.

So hubby survived the procedure on Friday, tho the doc didn't find the stone. We are hoping it is because it manage to pass out and wasn't hiding somewheres to cause trouble later. The doc said he checked everywhere. We'll see. Means hubby is staying on a low fat diet for a while and is definately off alcohol for the foreseeable future, poor guy. I was a bit dismayed when I realized I knew the fastest ways to and from the hopital when I had to run home to get his CPAP again (the anestithist wanted it just in case) and was pretty much home and back in a little over 10 minutes, and that included running in to the house to grab it and a bag. Fairly low key weekend. Didn't get out fishing, it was too cold and windy yesterday. I also had a planning meeting for Solstice this next weekend and once I got home I was down for the count I was in desperate need of a nap. Saturday my friend came over and we got a goodly amount of my garden in. He planted Luna carrots (they are white

Help find Lisa Stebic

torigirl35 , a gal I subscribe to on YouTube, posted a vid Help find Lisa Stebic on her channel and I followed the links. Lisa Stebic is a woman who disappeared from her home in Plainville IL April 30, 2007. (stickied to say at the top, newer posts below)

Finally got my papers done

Or so I thought. I took them into hubby on my thumb drive to have him print them out. He handed me the printouts and I discovered that they hadn't been saving to the drive like I thought. I only had part of each one. WAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby checked the laptop (which I was using since I needed to have the screen in front of me) to see if there was a copy on that (why would there be, I was saving everyting to the thumb drive). So I had to try and remember how I finished the papers and redo them. I think I got all my citations and finishing paragraphs rewritten. Oh well, the damned things are due today, so the prof gets what he gets. Hubby just handed me the first one and the 2nd one is printing as I write. I drop them off when we head out in a little while to run errands before hubby goes in for his proceedure. I deserately need coffee, but since hubby can't have any, I don't feel like making any. I can get some at Gritman. I am a happy camper tho, Safeway has

Ummmm?

A Different World Bucky Covington We were born to mothers who smoked and drank Our cribs were covered in lead based paint No child proof lids no seat belts in cars Rode bikes with no helmets and still here we are, still here we are We got daddy’s belt when we misbehaved Had three TV channels you got up to change No video games and no satellite All we had were friends and they were outside, playin’ outside Chorus It was a different life When we were boys and girls Not just a different time It was a different world School always started the same every day The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray Not every kid made the team when they tried We got disappointed and that was all right, we turned out all right Chorus Bridge No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose And every Sunday, all the stores were closed Chorus Chorus It was a different world --- Now I rather like this song, and I quite like Bucky Convington. But he was born in 1977 and I have to say, by the time he was out

Let's see....

First we have toothpaste that is contaminated with an antifreeze component, then we have puffer fish labeled as monkfish and now we have news of 1.5 million Thomas and friends toys painted with led paint being recalled. Can someone please explain to me why we continue buying crap from China? It is bad enough they use what amounts to slave labor (in some cases, they do use slave labor, they are called prisoners in jail) in unsafe and piss poor conditions, but the fact WE are subsidizing this is so very, very WRONG!!!!! Since the US government isn't going to do anything about it other then shaking their fingers at China and tell them they've been naughty, it is up to us the consumers to put our feet down and say "NO!". We have GOT to stop buying cheap crap from China and start looking at labels and start buying American again or at least from countries that aren't trying to poison us. In other news, hubby didn't get the procedure done yesterday because his doc

Serious kewlness!!!!!!

My two favorite drivers on the same team: Earnhardt to Join Hendrick Motorsports I do hope Hendrick can work a trade for the 5 car and the 8 car if Busch signs up with DEI.

I have a very happy tummy today

We said "screw it!" and picked up fried chicken at Winco on the way home last night. I knew it was time since I was having fantasies of slathering hubby in fry oil and salt and serious nibbling taking place! I know I start getting weird when I'm deprived of something, but that fantasy took the cake. For clarification, the oil in mind was cold, but flavored of fried chicken, so no 3rd degree burns would have been experienced. So we picked up a 12 piece with potato wedges and coleslaw for the sides, with the Hawaiian sweet rolls for $10 and went home (note to self, avoid Winco at 5pm, everyone and their dog goes there at 5pm) and enjoyed. I love Winco's fried chicken, it is crispy and tasty and not very greasy (tho it probably is a bit more then hubby's pancreas would have liked, but we've been watching things of late, so a little indulgence is fine). He goes in tomorrow to get that pesky gallstone taken so we can start getting back to almost normal. Winco fried

If oral sex between teenagers is illegal in Georgia

Why isn't the girl involved in jail too? A judge has tossed the 10 year sentence for Genarlow Wilson, tho the %&%^$ prosecutors have blocked it by appealing it. Why is it everytime a case like this happens, it is the boy who goes to jail. Why isn't the girl in jail for the same charge, since after all, she usually is a willing participant? In this case the girl was the initiator, so why wasn't she also charged for the crime and tossed in jail. All I've seen is it is the boys involved who got busted, with Genarlow the only one not taking a plea bargain and getting a ridiculously harsh sentence. I would also love to know how many white boys get busted under this same law who have gotten the same sentence. I betcha they all got a stern warning not to do it again and sent home. What we have here folks is the same kind of lame ass justice we've been seeing of late where we've seen serious need of tossing the idiots who are supposed to be applying the law evenly

Summertime!!!!!!!

Well, almost, I still have to finish my two papers, they are due by Friday. I spent most of yesterday staring at my computer trying to get what is in my brain into written form and not having much success. Kinda a semi-busy weekend, got a few things done. Ended up hauling most of the old couch to the dump ourselves, the friend who was going to help us ended up not being available, so we took the cushions and frame and hopefully he'll show up on Saturday to help us move the metal bed part. It won't fit in the Subaru too well. He did drop by later on Sat nite and we gave him the old TV, which hubby had gotten blown out and working, along with the ironing board I tried to Freecycle, with no takers. He doesn't need an ironing board, but it will make a great gardening bench as he and his partner have a good sized garden and greenhouse. Decided to recycle the big cardboard boxes waiting to go the the recyclers into my garden. I have the one spot that I never got all the grass dug

WOO HOO!!

Go Atlantis!

Oh Boo Hoo!!!!!

Poor, poor wittle Paris Hilton, she got sick in jail and the nice Sheriff let her go home early to serve out her time in the comfort of her own home. Poor, poor abused Paris. Must be nice being a rich skank who doesn't have to park her ass in jail just like everyone else who's broken the law. The Sheriff's office states she had a medical condition that warrented her going home on house arrest (house arrest having been completely ruled out for any reason by the sentencing judge by the way). Funny, most inmates with any medical conditions usually get slammed into the infirmary, or if serious enough, escorted to the hospital where they get to spend time handcuffed to a bed. Must be nice to get sent home instead. As I've said before elsewhere, money talks and bullshit walks and the little brat is getting special treatment, regardless to what the various defense lawyers being interviewed on TV say. If she was poor and her last name wasn't famous, her ass would have been

Phew!!!!!

Okay, I didn't run screaming from the classroom this morning and I THINK I answered the questions. I hope I answered them the way he wanted, but it would have helped if he'd written them right hehehehehehehe. My brain works differently then everyone else's, so he may not have gotten what he was expecting. Now I just have to spit out two papers to turn in next week and I am DONE!!!!!!! I'm still planning on doing the first paper on marriage, I've changed the topic of the 2nd. Still working that one out. I get my summer back and am so looking forward to my 3 day weekends. It will be so nice to sleep in on Fridays hehehehehehehe Been an interesting week. The TV in the bedroom is getting fritzy, so we decided that we'll get rid of it, move the one in the living room down and get a new one for there. Well, hubby found a 32" one for a good price at the pawn shop, so we stopped and I looked at it and figured it would fit in the entertainment center fine. Nope. Mis

Blerk......

I am so not ready to take the final tomorrow. My brain has melted and I don't think I could put two letters together for anything coherent. No identifiers, but he'll give us 4 essay questions and wants us to answer 3 of them. Is it too late to go back and take a class where all the tests are multiple choice? :P

What tarot card are you?

Image
You are The Moon Hope, expectation, Bright promises. The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window. The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition. What Tarot Card are You? Take th

AUUUGGGHHHH!!!!!!

I'm not ready for hot weather, thank the Ghodz it is cooler today and will be cooler this week. It got bloody hot yesterday and I almost died. Poor hubby, he deals with the heat worse then I do. We popped the air conditioner into the bedroom window yesterday and was able to sleep most of the night (at least until the AC turned itself off, it has a timer we set). When it went off I woke up stiffling, so opened the bedroom door and went back to sleep. They are predicting thunderstorms tonight, so fingers crossed we get them and some rain. We were going to go fishing tonight after work, but decided not to if the weather is going to be flaky. Ended up in bed about 8:30pm Friday night, tho I didn't fall asleep until 10. I was exhausted. We'd planned on driving down to Lewiston/Clarkston to hit Costco as soon as they opened so we could be in and out before it got too hot on Saturday. Needless to say, we must have been more exhausted the we thought, we didn't get up until 9:30

FRIDAY!!! YAY!!!!!!

Image
And the weather is nice, tho I think hubby would prefer it a bit cooler. I'm quite enjoying it. It will be cooling back down to normal next week. Have to see if he is up for some fishing this weekend. He is doing better, tho recovery is taking a bit. He's been having fun trying to get a hold of his doctor. I'm thinking she's just not been getting the messages and there has been some mis-communication in the office. But at least she now knows he has been having some problems since coming out of hospital. One more week of class, can't believe it, doesn't seem like next week should be it. But it is and while I've enjoyed it, I will be glad when it is done and I can have my normal summer with my Fridays off. I am going to be enjoying my 3 day weekends this summer. Finally tried the churkey burgers (as hubby has dubbed them) I had in mind. They came out nicely. I had one with leftover cous cous for lunch today:
