Saturday adventures

So we decide to head down to Lewiston/Clarkston for a day of shopping. We thought it was going to be a quick trip down and back.

Right.

We stop at the Cenex to get enough gas to get us downthere when we discovered hubby didn't have his wallet. So we head home and then spend an hour looking for it. I was out checking the car every 15 minutes when I wasn't tearing up the house. Finlly hubby finds it, under my keyboard on top of my computer. SIGH!

So we hop back in the car and get gas and off we go. Only to end up stopping 3 times to reattach the bloasted bug shield on the front of the car because one end kept popping off. We finally said the heck with it and took the whole thing off.

We figured this was the Dieties way of making sure we weren't where we were supposed to be at a certain time. A simple "have us sleep in a lot longer" would have sufficed.

So we finally make it down and stop off at RadShack so hubby can look at portable scanners (one with a NASCAR function built in if we ever happen to be near a track during a race LOL) and I popped into the pet shop next door. Hubby found me drooling over some gorgeous black hamsters. I've never seen all black hamsters before, they were adorable. Little pink noses and pink feet. We resisted, esp since Rum Tum would probably consider one a fun appetizer LOL.

Decided to have lunch some place different and went to Tomato Brothers in Clarkston. Oh it was SOOO the right decision. Started off with a nice iced tea while they brought us a nice warm bread with herbed butter:

We sequed onto appetizers, baked goat cheese floating in marinara with garlic toast:

Can we say MOUTH-GASM!!!! I knew we could hehehehehehe. Hubby had the italian panini:

I had the Florentine calzone. Spinach, mozzarella, ricotta and black olives. MMMMMMMMMMMM:

This is pretty much what the table looked like at the end:

After spending time in heaven, we hit Costco and picked up chicken, cheese and most importantly, kitty cat food. We'd run out of crunchies a couple days ago, have been feeding them canned and this morning had to borrow some from the neighbor or else face a riot of ticked off hungry kitties hehehehehe. Kirkland has changed the formulation, it is now chicken and rice with more protein and added nutition. Luckily the kitties didn't turn their noses up at it when we came home, so it looks like it is acceptable. Thank the ghodz hehehehehe.

Wandered home and have spent the evening vegging in from of the telly watching murder mysteries on BBCAmerica.

Oh yeah! My tastebuds are still in heaven from that lunch. We are seriously considering the next time we HAVE to get away from home for an evening, we'll make reservations at the Clarkston Motel 6 right next door to the Tomato Brothers and then we can do dinner there on a Sat night and then hit their bite-sized lunch brunch on Sunday :D

I really, really want to try their wood oven pizza. When we lived in Italy when I was 10, we regularly went to a little restaurant where only the locals and military families went (no tourists unless they were seriously lost) where we had pizza baked in a wood burning oven (since we were just north of Naples the mozzarella was made from water buffalo milk and 30 years later I can still taste it's creamy, melted goodness on my tongue MMMMMMMMMMM)
