Okay, VACATION!!!!!

A whole week off, I'm going to enjoy it. For dinner last night we picked up a Papa Murphy's chicken and bacon stuffed pizza, made great breakfast too :D

Got my hair cut today, got the gal's card so I remember who to go to next time. I go so seldom I never remember the name of whoever cut my hair last at this place. It's called Twister's and I like it. I was half tempted to going super short, but I wimped out, it's too cold for that. I did go shorter then I usually do and had the gal thin the ends out a lot, so there is more bounce in it now. My hair may be baby fine, but there is a LOT of it.

Did the turkey day shopping, picked up a 22lb bird at Safeway, along with a whole bunch of other groceries. Hit Winco for my bulk goods, also the wine we forgot to get a Safeway. Goign to try an Arbor Mist white merlot with cranberry and kiwi flavors. Should give the turkey a very nice flavor. I'm going to use the new roasting pan and rack instead of my grandmother's old one. I have trouble getting the lid onto the bigger birds. So this year I'll see how the new one goes covered with aluminum foil.

I'm planning on my regular fresh bread stuffing, but am going to make a dressing using some of the Artisian carmalized onion and garlic bread. A little different this year. I'm leery of trying something totally new, but something a little bit different would be nice. Besides, hubby LOVES his stuffing/dressing and we never have enough for more then a day or two's leftovers hehehehehehehe.

One thing I am doing new is Paula Deen's Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie. Okay, it isn't a totally new recipe, it just has an added ingredient. I have enough ingredients to make two, so will look at freezing one for later re-heating in the oven. I now have to make some apple butter, the only jar we could find was a bit pricy and the 3 ingredients right after apple were high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup and sugar Um, no. So I bought a couple bags of gala apples and some apple cider and I'll make it in the crockpot. I hope to get the apples going tonight and have them cook over night.

Still have to hunt down butter, so far Wally World has the best price, so I'm seething, but our budget won't go very far on the grocery store prices. Still have to check a couple other places still, may find it in the price range I want, may check over in Pullman if we have the time.

I'll do some cooking over the next couple of days. I want to get as much as I can done well a head of time, so once the bird goes in the oven, I can sit and visit with my mom, who is flying in on Monday and sometime this week she wants to drive up to Spokane for the day (hmmmm, if I have any spare cash, may go back to that asian market and get those spiral rice noodles).

Hoping to go see Harry Potter tomorrow. Was going with a group, but suddenly people seem to think we are going to the Pullman theatre? Not sure what is going on, but my coupons are only good for the Moscow theatre I like, so may be going to see it by myself. Hubby's not feeling too well and sitting for a coupel hours int he theatre would not be good for him.

FINALLY got the old toilet hauled off, along with some other odds and sods to the dump. So now that is no longer sitting in front of the house. Make the property owner very happy hehehehehehe
