Monday, Monday

Busy weekend. Spent most of Saturday down in Lewiston/Clarkston after a late start. A friend whose computer hubby had worked on came by to pick it up and drop off a check. She had her corgi, so we thought we'd introduce Nicky to him. Boy, that was funny. As far as we know, Nicky has never seen a dog, but he reacted just like a cat, hissed, growled and left hubby bleeding as he was holding him at the time. I pulled him out of under the headboard when the puppy left (the platform goes to the wall and the headboard sits on a couple cinderblocks, we used to have a water bed and there is an access hole cut in the platform for power cords. Just big enough for a kitty that doesn't want to deal with puppy dogs LOL). He finally forgave us by bedtime.

Got to Lewiston on fumes, hit the Safeway to get gas, turns out we still had the 6 cent a gal discount, so got it for $2.799 a gal. Hit Shopko, picked up a small back pack and a courier bag, both official NASCAR items, Jeff Gordon and the 24 car :D Got the one for $3.50 and the other for $7.50 on clearance hehehehehehe.

Decided to drive up the casino on the Nez Perce reservation to check it out and see about lunch. Gas there was $2.769. Neat casino, they are in the process of doing some remodeling. We went to get some cash fromt he ATM, but it was a Wells Fargo machine and they charge $2 a transaction, so we said the heck with that, drove back into Lewisotn to check a place out we saw earlier, Rusty's Ranch Cafe. I ordered their hot roast beef sandiwch, hubby had their hot pork sandwich. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! He also got coffee and that is the first coffee I've EVER wanted to drink black. I adulterate even the finest coffee, but this was pure ambrosia! From there we hit the cash 'n carry, picked up the best witch I've ever seen. She cackles when you push the button on her arm and her eyes blink red. I'll bring her in Samhain to decorate my desk.

Costco was after that, Saturday late afternoon is nice to shop there. Picked up a shop type power bar for hubby's office, it will free up 3 smaller power bars, one I'll use in the kitchen. Picked up a couple more packages of the boneless, skinless chicken thighs, a box of bisquick and a few other odds and sods.

Came back home via the Spiral Highway (aka the old Lewiston Grade) as there was a geocache part way up. Stopped and got out. Really neat little parklet that the owners have build up. It is also their pet cemetary. I've some pics I'll post later. Went looking for the cache, it was a difficulty 2 out of 5 for hiding and a 2.5 out of 5 for terrain. I managed to get with in 24' of it, but the terrain was a little too much for me. I ended up coming back down on my butt it was steep enough. I'll look for it again sometime, making sure I have a decent pair of hiking boots and a walking stick. Later that evening I discovered I'd trashed my left knee, using a cane on and off since then.

Sunday we had Mabon, it was a special one and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about magical.

I got to meet the kitten I mentioned the other day, oooooooo he is a sweetie. He snuggled up and groomed me like he didn't to any other adult. Got to bottle feed him (he's abuot 3 weeks old or so) and if the other person doesn't take him when he's weaned, that baby is MINE!!!!!!!!

Took a rice dish I made with saffron and some dehydrated wild muchrooms. Bloomed the saffron in warm water, re-hydrated the 'shrooms. Used the saffron and mushroom water to cook the rice with some more water. Added the 'shrooms when it started boiling and then cooked on low for 20 minutes. Let it rest for another 10 minutes before opening the lif. I turned it out into a cassarole dish and added a few drops of sesame oil and folded that in. Added a nice nutty accent to pop the mushroom and saffron flavor.

Didn't get home until after 10pm last night, bed at 11:30 and this morning was way too early :P
