Partially successful hunt

Got a late start on the geocaching, hubby was a while getting things downloaded into his plam and everything figured out. Then we had to download stuff into the GPS and then we were off.

Knew were the first one would be located, we drive by there a lot. It is on private property, but permission has been given and there is a shop there people can stop into. A pretty cool place. Found the cache (actually hubby located it, I wasn't going to dig thru the bushes, someone had mentioned spiders on the log page). Signed the log book while hubby popped into the shop to get something to put in the cache. So we left a little frog and the item hubby bought. Then it was off to the next cache.

Got there and started to undo the GPS antenna, then some muggles (means pretty much the same thing in cache-speak as in the books. People who AREN'T) with a dog showed up so we decided to try another cache. The idea is to find the caches as surrepticiously as possible so non-cachers don't disturb them when you leave.

So off to the next place. The map software on the GPS kept trying to direct us to streets that don't connect, or onto streets that don't go thru anywhere yet. But we took a guess finally where it might be (a cute little pocket park) with nice paved pathways. So we broke out hubbys chair and wheeled off towards to coordinates. Unfortunately we didn't know what type of cache we were looking for and the info in the palm was very scarce. Once we got home we discovered that the program didn't list the info we needed for it. We were in the right area, but didn't have the clues we needed. So we'll make sure we get those and go there again (probably look at going out early tomorrow before the decadant brunch) so we can finish finding it.

Went back to the previous cache before heading home, but while we found out where it should have been, the cache was missing. When I logged onto my account at geocache.com to log my visits, I found that someone had been there just before us and they couldn't find it either. An earlier note from a week ago mentioned it missing then also. I do hope someone hasn't stolen it, that would be very, very rude.

So all in all, not a bad afternoon. We got out and about to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, I took along the digi-cam and got a few pics (will see if they turn out and post a couple) and we are learning what we need to figure out BEFORE we leave the house LOL.
