Just what we need, ANOTHER Walmart in the area. Just read in the local rag that they are planning on putting in a Walmart Super Center over in Pullman. That is 8 miles away. If they wanted a super center, why didn't they just expand the one they have here, instead of adding another store?!?!?!?!? They say they have no plans of closing the Moscow store, so we are going to get stuck with 2 Wally Worlds. One is seriously bad enough, even if they are the cheapest place in town to get butter (which is about all we seem to go there for anymore. They are the place of last resort if we can't find what we want elsewhere).
But, but, but, they will bring 300 jobs to the area!!! Yeah, all low paying, employees will be lucky if they are kept long enough to get invested in retirement or benefits and if the Moscow Walmart is any example, staffed by students who really don't want to be there and the few good folk who WANT to be there will last a couple of months before burning out trying to make up for the slack of the ones who'd rather be elsewhere.
