It didn't rain durning the Rit, but it POURED and hailed and thundered for a good chunk of the day. Needless to say, there wasn't enough accelerant around to get the bonfire going, so we had to go to plan B and use a large cauldron in the front yard to burn the scroll and boat. It was also EXTREMELY cold and windy, so we didn't want to be outside longer then we had to. Oh well, just means the bonfire will be even BIGGER come Beltaine hehehehehe.
So Freddy didn't go out in style on the bonfire, but he is now buried out at the farm where he came from, 4 years ago on Samhain, so it was a closure of sorts.
Today it has been sprinkling, windy, cold and snowing. I went out long enough today to put the cover back on my greenhouse (the wind blew the cover all to heck), put some stuff in the shed and then we popped out to the store and picked up stuff to make pumpkin pie. I'll start that in a bit. I'm also going to make more banana muffins for hubby and maybe run some bread thru the bread machine.
Still don't know if we'll get any trick or treaters, got the candy just in case. We'd comptemplated dressing up Ella in a witch's costume and sticking her on the broom for a decoration outside, but we've no witches hat and as windy out, hanging her up on a broom is a little more complicated then we'd like.
