Sigh!

The storm yesterday slipped around us, we barely got enough rain to streak the dust on the car windshield :( I'm getting a wee bit tired of all the good storms missing us.

In car news, we finally got the dealership to give us a firm diagnosis on the Forester, they agree it is the viscous coupling. So we'll double check with our mechanic and then see what the dealership will offer us as a deal for getting it fixed. If need be we will park the car and get the Ford up and running (hubby checked, the battery from the Subaru will work in the Escort). We can either re-register the Escort ($31) or transfer the plates from the Subaru to the Escort ($5). I think the later would be the best. However, the bank holds the papers on the Subaru, so if we park it to lower the insurance they want the plates. Hubby doesn't think we can swap the registration around then. I think we can as long as the active plates are on the vehicle that will be running and the bank gets a set of plates. Not like the Subaru will be going anywhere without plates or a battery. So hubby will check around and see what's what.

I cooked up extra rice last night, so dinner tonight will be fried rice and beef. We'd bought a couple packages of top round roasts the other day and I cut them in half, so I have enough for several meals as long as the meat isn't the main part. So I think we'll be doing lots of chinese influenced meals. I was just wishing I could lay my hands on some green onions to add to tonights meal, then I realized that I do have some young onions in the garden (I'd planted some Utah Sweets) and those should do the trick :)

One more day of work until the 3 day weekend.

OH MY GODDESS!!!!! Just got a call from hubby, the dealership is going to fix the car for FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dealer says this is the first time in 5 years they've had this kind of problem come in and they are going to claim it as a warrenty repair and comp the labor!!!!! Hubby wonders how much of this is to shut him up, but we're going to take it (plus they are also going to replace the peanut light on the cruise control for free. They usually charge $125 to do so, we'd said forget it. Will be nice to have all the little lights working again). So the car goes in in a week and I'll just have to figure out a way to get to work and back for a couple of days. So my little Escort will stay "stored" until we can buy her her own battery and get her re-licensed (insurance will be cheap, just basic), so that will be a couple months down the road.
