YEEEHAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The jury came back with not guilty on the terrorism charges and some of the visa fraud charges in the trial of Sami Al-Hussayen and a mistrial was declared on the rest of the charges. Sami is a student here at the U who the US government railroaded this last year on trumped up charges and arrested him in a pre-dawn raid over a year ago and made life miserable for his wife and children.

He is still subject to deportation and the gov't may try and retry him on the other charges, but hopefully the government suffered a big enough black eye they will decide to avoid further embarrassment and just quietly put him on a plane so he can go home to his wife and children.

With any luck, he can finish his degree with the U via long distance education or transfer everything to a university overseas where he won't have to worry about being harrassed by the thugs at Fatherlan... er Homeland Security. All the time he was unjustly jailed and confined to solitary confinement, in a prison that was many hours drive from where his lawyer was based, he continued working on his thesis, which the prosecution kept trying to say was bogus, a charge his major professor vehemently denied and is a great insult to the University of Idaho.
