I desperately need more coffee

I really, really didn't want to wake up this morning. I could have gleefully shot the alarm clock and gone back to sleep, except hubby would have probably objected to being awoken to gun shots :D

Yesterday was a lovely day. Mom, Aunt P and I drove up to Coeur d'Alene and had a good time. We stopped at the Coeur d'Alene Casino outside of Worley for a quick peek and rest stop. There is something totally, totally wrong about a blackjack table where the dealer is a video screen and there wasn't a single one-armed bandit in the entire place :( I guess I'm just an old fashioned girl, I prefer real people dealing my cards and I hate feeding dollar bills and pushing buttons. I love the sound of coins dropping into the slot, the feel of pulling a lever and listening to the wheels turn and the sound they make as they stop. Oh well, I guess my money is safe :D

We didn't get to drive around downtown CDA much, we did hit the Ironman competition, they were doing the bike portion thru most of downtown CDA. I managed to snap off a couple of pics of the cyclists.

Since we couldn't get downtown, we hopped over to Appleway and were going to have lunch at IHOP, but we decided at the last minute to eat at Perkins. That was a wonderful idea. Perkins has upscaled their menu in the few years I last ate at one. Mom had a coconut shrimp salad, Aunt P had soup and a salad and I had an orgasim on a plate (actually it was a roast beef and grilled portabello sandwich on thick grilled bread with au jus for dipping. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!). Needless to say, my tummy was a happy camper.

After lunch we drove around to the east side of the lake for the drive home. Oh was it pretty. At St Maries we turned right and drove back over to Plummer (where gas was $1.88 a gal?!?!?!?! We are still at $2.07 for the lowest price and we are the bigger city!!!!) and then back to Moscow the way we'd come up. We could have turned left and gone down the rest of the Whitepine scenic hiway, but that would have added another hour on the trip, nicer tho it would have been. Maybe next time.

We stopped at Rosauers once we got home and Aunt P popped for the fixin's for dinner tonight, so I have steaks marinating in the fridge and 3 big portabellos to go with the steaks. Spinach salad with roma tomatos and I'll do up a homemade oil and basalmic vinegar dressing for that. Brocoli on the side. We've some chocolate cake that was leftover from Solstice feast that I brought home, we can have that for dessert. I'll have hubby start the charcoal about 1/2 hour-45 minutes before my mom comes by to pick me up from work, so it will be ready for the meat and 'shrooms not too long after I get home.
