Not quite so welcomed neighbor

We just found out we have what is probably a Great Horned owl living in our little corner of Paradise, but I'm not too terribly happy about it being a neighbor. It is kinda cool and all to hear one hooting nearby, but Great Horned owls frequently mistake kitty cats for one of their favorite delicacies, skunk, and will pounce on them for dinner. Which means that not only will we have to keep the kitties in at night for the duration (this will be LOTS of fun when the weather warms up) because of the coyotes, but now for an owl. The coyotes we can at least shoot as vermin, but it is a federal offense to even consider harrassing owls. Hopefully we can figure out a way to co-exist without bloodshed on either side.
